Allen Iverson - Nuggets

Post by mantypas/CavsCzar »

The OG Draft number 1 overall pick, Allen Iverson, the Answer himself, is officially inducted into the Hall of Fame, a little late some say. One of the best point guards the league has ever seen, AI dominated this league on both sides of the court. Sadly, he wasn't able to hoist a ring, but golly did he get close a few times on some impressive teams.

Drafted by the Bulls in the creation draft, his impact was quite immediate. He was a rookie in the All Star game and went on to win Rookie of the Year, averaging 23.4 ppg on 45.8% from the field, and 2.2 steals. Lotta turnovers, but all rookies do. He continued to improve, made two all-star teams, and switched teams a bit until he found a home in Denver. There he spent nine seasons giving opposing Midwest guards headaches. He never scored less than 26 points a game in his stint in Denver, with five of nine of his seasons being 29 points a game or more. He won an MVP in 2002, with an impressive stat line of 31.7 ppg on 48% from the field, 45% from three, 8.4 assists, and 3.1 steals. He was known by the league and stated by ashes as the highest rated player in the league for a good run. He was unable to climb the mountains of Denver, so he got shipped to Charlotte for the end of his career, where they continued to compete, but was unable to get that evasive ring. in his last 4 seasons in Charlotte, he was top 50 player in the league, averaging about 23-24 ppg, but a positive steal-to-turnover ratio -(2.7-3 to 1.5-2), and good efficiency.

Another fun amazing real life, amazing SLN player. Similarly no ring, similar single MVP in the early 2000s (2001 for IRL AI). Both played for the Nuggets for multiple seasons. The real AI was a beast and culture hero with the 76ers. He almost beat Shaq and Kobe almost single handed (very old Mutumbo, Eric Snow, yuckkk). Let's hope SLN AI has better money management.

Congrats AI, well deserved induction. No ring, but glory upon glory upon glory. Cheers to AI - you will be retired as a Nugget

His final career average is as follows
Career: --- 1218 37.9 12388 26674 .464 5565 6576 .846 2987 7293 .410 6.1 7.3 2.6 0.2 2.8 24 27.4

MVP season - 2002 Nuggets 80 38.4 932 1942 .480 425 470 .904 245 545 .450 6.0 8.4 3.1 0.2 3.4 1 31.7
