Jesse also had an incredible season despite his injury luck we have all heard much about. maybe he'll get my gmoty vote next year after selling snake oil boban for 8 picks
smh the smart man trading for boban in this hypothetical deal would obviously be the gmoty favorite

Tough decision but ultimately voted for Tonger. Inspired by how much tanking sucks, made a timely moves to grab stud vets Bosh and Hart, drafted really well and made some fun additions in FA.

Other consideration went to Jesse who got TP for very good value and Wade on his final year of his deal. Fun year for the Kings.

My third GM would be Steven who had one of the hottest streaks the leagues ever seen. Has drafted really nicely but will have some big decisions to make in the next few seasons.

Voted for Tonger.

I was split between Tonger, Jesse, and RB but Tonger went from suck to playoffs emphatically. Getting good players is one thing but knowing the which ones to get and how to deploy them is something different. What Tonger and RB were doing this year showed that they were light years ahead of the learning curve.

In most years i would probably give this award to Jesse just because the OG truly fucks. I love getting that one message per szn that says something like "i'm bored, lets make a trade." I know Jesse is just cooking on the other side and envisions a team with 15 new players every 2 weeks. AND IT ALWAYS WORKS! Good on him for snagging one of the best SLN PGs ever and the best defensive SG I have ever seen. Also, Boban? Are we ever going to accept Boban is SLN?

Torn between Steven and Tonger. Ultimately went Tonger. Cashed in the chips, and made a hell of a team that seems to have some longevity in the bloodbath of the central division. The bosh Drummond pairing in the front court will continue to mash people on the glass for years to come. Steven made some awesome moves and had the best story of the season. Shoutout to Jesse , who is always active and has put together a crazy good team and the best backcourt we may ever see, Hoff, who had an awesome season after parting ways with Steve franchise, and Heimer, who made a bunch of big and little moves to sneak into the playoffs and give us a fun 8 seed upset.

Good season folks

Voted for Heimer. The Iggy trade appears to have worked well for both of us so far. He was able to take down the number 1 seed in the East in the first round and looking to see how he fairs against the Pistons.

Voted for Tonger. He's building a great Pacers team that I will surely be annoyed to compete with in the Central division for years to come. Well done dude.

A lot of very good candidates this year.

I voted for Steven because I thought what he did (basically, sweating out the worst imaginable start, swinging one of the most impactful trades of the season (Prince), and becoming one of the most formidable teams in the league following that deal while also dealing with injuries to said player, never panicking and successfully flipping the switch with rookie-contract stars) required a ton of balls and patience. It's an unorthodox case but I think it's very worthy. The Nets were in the basement forever, people have been fading them, and nobody expected them to be that good, particularly after being temporarily so fucking bad lol. I also think what he's done is very sustainable if he can navigate RFA the next few years. Deserves a lot of credit.

Jesse was my very close runner-up, it's so hard to swing one superstar deal, let alone two, and he did it pretty affordably and persuaded not one but two good teams to trade away their stars. Great stuff.

Generally a very good year for GMOTY, always good for the league when it's tough to choose. I ultimately went with Tonger - he was flipping the switch from a position of not a ton of strength/leverage (not his fault, just our previous Pacers ownership) and ended up getting some stars for very good value and going from a team with absolutely zero championship equity to a pretty sizable amount. His DC got the most of Roy and Williams (both often maligned players), and he balanced a mix of vets and young stars really well to ensure he has some cap and team structure flexibility. Not for nothing, but he also generated some of the best content this league has seen in a while. An extremely strong case!

Runners up (in no particular order) would be Hoff, RB, Jesse, Heimer, Steven.

I voted for Jesse because the Wade and Parker deals drove a stake directly into my heart. I think he got good value on each, and I'll make the case that going from fringe contender to potentially the best roster is the hardest move to make as a GM. I didn't think he had enough to pull off either deal, let alone both.

Tonger, Steven, Heimer and several others all have great cases. I love what Indiana has built, and the Nets are going to be really tough for a while.
