2013 Full Season Correlation and Point Differential Analysis
I ran an analysis on Full Season statistics to see who were the overachievers and underachievers for the 2013 season. Especially since the playoff seedings were so tight this season, it's interesting to see where each team should've lined up based on average point differential.
Win % vs. Point Differential Overachievers: Blazers, Celtics, Mavericks, Sonicks, 76ers, Jazz and Nets
Underachievers: Kings, Rockets, Nuggets, Bucks, Bullets, Pacers
Based on this, no surprise the Kings, Rockets, and Nuggets cruised in their first round matchups.
From a tanking perspective, Lakers should've been worse then they were.
Then, I ran a full season correlation analysis to see what statistics led to the most success from a Win % standpoint. Hopefully, this helps GMs structure their teams going forward with fast pace solid scoring, low turnovers, and good rebounding. The biggest surprises are steals per game and opponents PPG.

Miss those Yi rebounds in Orlando. No wonder Quady won so many games!
