Bouncing Around the NDL
After my Zach Lowe-ish piece seemed to do pretty well as an article format, I figured I might take another stab at it. Why not tackle the NDL?! It's our favorite thing to hype up when a player averages crazy numbers!
The Contenders
1. Lakeland Magic
There might be some bias here, but hey, we boast a +9.7 differential, have 3 legit SLN assignees, Dario Saric is on his way on Day 60! Clearly Coach Mark Daigneault, recently hired from the support staff at UF, has been experimenting with an inside based offense to accentuate the skills of Alex Len and rookie sensation Dwight Powell. Jeremy Lamb chips in some perimeter scoring, and Acie Law IV provides the veteran NDL stability at PG that could lead Lakeland to the title!
2. Santa Cruz Warriors
Talk about guards, Spencer Dinwiddie and Matthew Dellavedova run the backcourt in Northern California. When Mike Muscala isn't playing 18 at Pebble, you can find him dominating the paint to the tune of 24/10 with 2.7 stocks and some really sexy ratings. A +8.8 point differential and the best record in the NDL, they're likely the favorites to come out of the West.
3. Memphis Hustle
A double PG backcourt that has been electric so far this season. Dante Exum looks like a revelation! Mason Plumlee and Joe Harris are fine. This is your typical solid NDL team. They've got some good assignees and nothing else notable.
4. Raptors 905
I thought about excluding them here because the assignees are more meh than you'd think but JWoo would fly to NYC and murder me in my sleep. Dougie McBuckets and James Ennis provide most of the scoring punch on the wing but there aren't any wild statlines here. JWoo hypes up Bebe but my mans has fewer stocks than Mike Muscala! This team is going to be all about if Ennis/McDermott can outscore you.
5. Cleveland Charge
I like the general makeup of the roster with an assignee PG and scoring W. Vonleh has been pretty terrible, and I'm fortunate Manty didn't trade me that pick because I'd have taken Vonleh over Dwight Powell. Luckily for the Charge, help is on the way! Maxi Kleber is on his way after a trade from Dallas and should perfectly round out this assignee group.

1. Roberto Sura (Long Island Nets)
It's always Bob Sura with a mustache pretending he's Mexican to me
2. Mobius Templeton (Westchester Knicks)
For you Loki watchers, he didn't get a Jetski but now he's hoopin in the NDL! Also, this just feels like a fake name
3. Stromile Schack (Santa Cruz Warriors)
This is a peak Key & Peele football name. Think he came up after Jackmerius Tacktheritrix
4. Stephon Sabonis (Stockton Kings)
Think Arvydas might've cheated on his wife with an American woman with Stephon. Not exactly the most Lithuanian name on the planet.
5. Raul Benshoof (OKC Blue)
He beenshoofing in the gym! Wyoming's finest
6. Matthew Kim (Greensboro Swarm)
From real life to the NDL, how did he do it?!

Fun ratings, good stocks...Eric Bledsoe got left for 4 years
2. Will Barton (Delaware Bluecoats)
Maybe the MVP favorite but on an expiring deal, will he get recalled?
3. Reggie Bullock (South Bay Lakers)
South Bay had 6 NDL guys...
4. KJ McDaniels (Northern Arizona Sun)
Not sure Tyler actually know what the NDL is, dude never uses it
5. Vasilije Micic (Rio Grande Valley)
Doesn't seem like an inside guy but B pot
NDL Guys Most Likely to be Serviceable
1. Otto Porter Jr. (Long Island Nets)
He's probably my favorite NDL prospect and is the reason Aaron Gordon had cannot go to NDL as a stip. Turns out, Ashes thought OPJ was a lotto lock, oops. Good for the Swamp. B-/A-/C/B/C+ are some super sexy ratings. He's gonna be a nice 3 and D guy with the twin towers of Jersey...or a trade centerpiece?!
2. Dwight Powell (Lakeland Magic)
He is very similar to Jordan Hill with 3 B-'s, good stats, and a projectable role.
3. Dante Exum (Memphis Hustle)
Currently playing SG and doing quite well. He will be a name to watch, could see him exploding in the NDL.
4. Doug McDermott (Raptors 905)
JWoo is going to camp him. He had a sick TC, and he still on has one B- rating or better. So he'll be a full 2 year NDL guy with full gains.
5. Mike Muscala (Santa Cruz Warriors)
Mentioned him earlier, but he's got nice stats, good stocks, and is B/B/C-/B+/C+. He's got 1 full camp left, good draft pick from Clint. Excited to see him in GSW.
Total Stab at 2015 Draft Best NDL Prospects
1. Mario Hezonja
Reeks of "Good Upside" with total disaster ratings because he should've been better than he was? His Barcelona highlights...sick, Orlando highlights...make you sick
2. Richaun Holmes
Decent chance of a cannot go to NDL, but also a good shot he can go be an NDL lord at rebounding and blocking shots
3. Justise Winslow
Can see him being a stocky wing with some handles issues that falls to the mid teens.
4. Cedi Osman
Think he'll be like your sterotypical NDL shooter with a little bit of defense but not much
5. Trey Lyles
See him as a Mike Muscala type
HM: Rakeem Christmas
Crazy he just dipped on 'Cuse and Jim Boeheim to play in the G-League for Tonger...looks kind of interesting? B-/B- butt ratings
This has been bouncing around the NDL. Can't wait to see it continue to evolve

i was going to write something up about NDL players with the same last name as great SLN players and compare them but this is WAY better.
Funny how there are guys like Sabonis and Payton who eventually have kids in the league but currently have off-brand kids or family members in the NDL
