Jakob Poeltl

Strengths: Good scorer in the paint. Should get a block, maybe a steal. Good post defender. Good rebounder. Good strength.

Weaknesses: Range isn't good. Handles need work.

Scout's Take: Poeltl's a throwback big, and it's almost working against him in the court of public opinion. But look, he's massive and has a well-developed post game, and there will be a place for those types of guys even as the league begins to skew small. He got noticeably better from freshman to sophomore year of college. Big men always take time. He's a fairly safe pick in my book.

Ratings: Jakob Poeltl C 7'0'' 245 21 B- D+ C B- B- A

Stipulations: None.

He’s a natural around the rim with a bag full of post moves. His issues come on the other side of the ball: one scout expressed concern with his adjustment to faster tempos and pick-and-roll defense, and another was more concerned with his rim protection skills
