1. Pau Gasol
A- C C- A- A- C

A big kahuna! Last year was Pau’s best in a few years; the man looks like he has some juice left. I am probably more skeptical of him as a long term signing than most, but who doesn’t want an efficient 20 and 12 with positive stocks from their big? Pau looks likely to move given Vancouver’s cap situation - his decision could really swing things in the West.
2. Kevin Love
B- A- C C A- A

I highly doubt Love is going anywhere, after Tyler traded a lot away for him and footed the bill for his SC and RFA tag. Like Marc Gasol before him, the former Blazer lottery selection has had pretty unfortunate TC dice rolls, however he still shows A potential and is just 24. Is he a superstar to-be or a suped-up Carlos Boozer? We’ll all have to watch the Suns’ box scores next season to find out. Maybe someone can get him to sign the one year max and really open things up next year…
3. DeAndre Jordan
B- D D A- A- B

Ratings are coming along nicely. Shoots a fair amount and not well, atrocious from the line. Turned it over kind of a lot last year starting at the 4. Rebounded well for an above-average rebounding Celtics team, probably would look more impressive at the 5 in that regard. Guessing he’d be a little stocker at the 5 as well. I’m guessing he should earn a nice multi-year deal, and I’m curious how close to the max Joe will go.

4. Primoz Brezec
A- C- D- B- A- C

Pau-lite? Good rebounder, good stocks, good stocks to turnover ratio, and pretty efficient high volume scorer for a big. Will be interesting to see how much he goes for and for how many years.

5. Carlos Boozer
A- C C A- A C

I love this man. Probably worth something around $10mm in AAV on a one or two year deal. Kind of a fun build in that he is definitely a good player to have on a good team, and can help tank a horrible team as an option in an outside offense (although maybe that’s changed). Really broke out last year in Philly shooting 47% from the field. Has always been an elite rebounder and exceptional at stealing the ball for a big, but blocks are just fine. I would guess his defense and rebounding ratings are on the cusp and prone to falling, but he should still be helpful regardless.

6. Kris Humphries
C+ C- D+ A- A B

A solid starter at the 4. Legit A- A level big with enough youth and TC juice to stay that way for a while. Pretty good stocks. Should go for above the MLE in AAV on a multi-year deal. Getting him on the MLE would be a homerun.

7. Elton Brand
B+ C- D B A- C

Played really well last year in Orlando toggling between the 4 and 5 while an occasional option on offense. Cracked the top 10 in Jesse’s ratings. Had a career high in blocks and an almost career high in rebounding. Pretty old at this point, so expect some slippage.

8. Chris Mihm
C C- D B+ A- C

Better than I thought. Good rebounder, good stocks, good stock to turnover ratio. Does not shoot it at all. Really nice cog in a shot funnel. Could start.

9. Kenyon Martin
B C- C- A B+ D

Would view as a one year guy given his age. Probably a backend starting option for next season or very good backup 4-5 option. Would be a nice get on the MLE.

10. Marcin Gortat
B C- C- A- A- C

Top 20 big in Jesse’s rankings. Very stocky, rebounding looks a little bit underwhelming given the A- rating. Shoots it a lot, and not very well. A fine starting center, but will annoy you popping up in the box scores with 3 of 15 shooting nights.

11. Roy Hibbert
B C- D A- B- B

Had a less impressive season than the previous year. The Mavericks were insane on defense last year but underwhelming on the boards, and Hoff probably expected more from Hibbert there. His stock numbers are very solid but his rebounding rate was below average. Hibbert has been SC’d, so you’re hoping for some organic development. A backend starting option now, but could easily grow beyond that.

12. David Lee
B C C B+ A C

I accidentally signed him last season which cost me Andris Biedrins - at first I was pretty sad about it, but Lee had a nice season as a backup big in Portland scoring with actual efficiency, not just big man efficiency. He was good for almost 14 rebounds per 36 playing as a backup 4 and third-string 5. It’s really nice to get 10 and 10 games from your backup big with at least nominally solid defense if not a ton of stocks. The MLE landed him last season and I’d expect something in that neighborhood to work again. If I had the future cap space and flexibility, I’d have extended him in season.

13. Ryan Anderson
B A- D C+ B B

Among my top-5 favorite Cal players. How much worse is he than Kevin Love today? A little bit better as a shooter, a little bit worse as a rebounder, with slightly lower potential, and defense probably a wash. I know SLN doesn’t love this archetype, but Anderson is a useful bench scorer, and with the right dice rolls, probably more than that.

14. Pops Mensah-Bonsu
C+ D+ D+ B+ A- D

A fan favorite in Philadelphia. Good on the boards, good stock to turnover guy, doesn’t want to shoot it. Career high is 11 points. Has 2 career double doubles in 167 games.

15. Andris Biedrins
C+ D F+ A- A- D

Slightly above average rebounder, and put up nice stock to turnover numbers last year. Not a lot of A- A- bigs in the file. I’d guess fewer than 20.

16. Amare Stoudemire
A C C- B- A- C

Maybe not broken? I think his rebounding numbers are a little inflated from playing as an option while starting from the 5 in a sometimes-balanced offense. Stocks are not great, but probably look better against his turnovers as a non-option on a winning team. Another useful archetype in that I’d guess he’d be pretty good as a backup or maybe starter on an inside or balanced team, and could put up impressive enough counting numbers as an option on a tanking team to drum up trade demand.

17. David West
B- C C B- A- B

Probably best-suited for a backup 4-5 roll. Shot it very well last year for a decent Pistons team trying to win. Turnovers and stocks are roughly equal, but he’ll win some possessions on the boards.

18. Zach Randolph
A- C C B A- C

A worse David West, except if you run an inside or balanced offense and are looking to add a scoring option. I’d count on TCs to start getting a little disappointing, as he is going into his twelfth season. Numbers are probably a little inflated last year from playing as a sometimes-option on an inside team.

19. Fabricio Oberto
B- C- C+ A B+ C

I really cannot believe he’s held on this long. Fab is 37 years old and still playing close to starter minutes. Here’s hoping someone with a deep bench signs him and he can finally take a well deserved rest.

20. Fran Vasquez
B- C D+ B+ B B

Useful third-string big type if he holds the line. Rebounding is around average, stocks are fine, shooting volume looks very low.

21. Jason Thompson
B- C- D+ B B+ C

Good rebounder, good stock to turnover guy, better than his ratings indicate. Did very well against the Sonics’ Dirk / Diop / Sampson frontline.

22. Channing Frye
B- B- C- B+ A- D

Has kind of a do-it-all build, although the offense isn’t very good. Solid rebounder. Stocks are fine. A better Nick Collison.

23. Sean May
B+ C C- C A- B

Long-escaped Pokemon still showing B potential after 7 seasons. Very good rebounder, maybe bad positionally on defense, with a little bit in the way of stocks. Would be happy to have him on the minimum playing third-string 4 minutes.

24. Travis Outlaw
C+ B- D+ B B- C

Former stock lord. Useful still, although any meaningful slippage could change that. No longer a rebounding weapon, still good stock to turnover ratio and limited shot appetite.

25. Nick Collison
B- C C- B A- C

Scrappy. Plays the game the right way. Coach’s player. Basically no stocks but a decent rebounder. Good from the charity stripe. One encumbered two Sonics picks.

26. Amir Johnson
B- C- C- B A- C

Solid on the boards, not much in the way of stocks. Less upside left than I thought. Didn’t know he came out of high school.

27. Brook Lopez
B- C+ C A- B- C

Not as good as I would have guessed, thanks to pretty poor rebounding numbers, and offensive volume that has so far been extremely inefficient. An upside / youth play at 24, however, he’s showing C potential already. Maybe a minimum or LLE guy? Is fully camped.

28. Charlie Villanueva
B B D- B- B C

Surprisingly good in limited minutes for the Pacers last year. Seems useful. Solid rebound and stock to turnover rates.

29. Jonathan Bender
C C D+ B C+ D

Jayant losing this guy led to his ouster as Lakers GM. Stock to turnover king, blah as a rebounder.

30. Brad Miller
C+ C C+ B B+ D

Still a very good rebounder. Turnover prone and shoots a fair amount. Stocks are solid. He can help someone for sure, but probably time to ride off into the sunset.

31. Mark Blount
B C- D B B- B

Seems to still be a fine rebounder with decent stocks, and has played pretty good if limited minutes the last three years. Ranking him this high seems like elder abuse.

32. Curtis Borchardt
C+ C D A C+ F

A nothing rebounder but very stocky. Did very well in Jesse’s ratings. Hmm.

33. Chris Andersen
B D+ D+ B+ B D

Fine to below average on the boards, still decently stocky. Good fourth big.

34. Mike Sweetney
B- C- F+ B+ B+ C

Still has nice ratings. I thought he’d been around longer, but is apparently only 30. Good rebounder, fine stocks, slightly stock to turnover positive. Good depth piece.

35. Joel Przybilla
C D+ D- B B+ D

Appears to still have some rebounding juice left. Not sure if he’s stocky as he hasn’t really played real minutes in ages. Has never had much of a shot appetite.

36. Ronny Turiaf
B- C- C B+ B- D

Had pretty good number in really limited burn for the Lakers last year. Would take a swing on this guy.

37. Luis Scola
B C F+ B- A- D

A fine rebounder with a little bit of stocks. Useful as a backup 4 or third-string 4-5

38. Saer Sene
C- C- F+ B+ C+ A

Nice stock to turnover ratio in limited minutes last season. Candidate for the Hinkie special 6 year minimum level deal.

39. Ratko Varda
D+ D+ D- B B- C

I think this is the first time I’ve ever googled “Ratko Varda”. He looks like a Ratko Varda. Still some rebounding and stock juice. Also the resident SLN good luck charm.

40. JaVale McGee
B- D+ D- B+ B- C

Not a good rebounder, but decent stocks.

41. Earl Clark
C C C- A- C+ A

Another NDL potential success story. Appears to have never been camped - a couple +8s in rebounding would really help this guy. A team flush with RP could I imagine sign him for a long minimum-ish deal, throw the camps his way, and have a nice backup big for a few years. And maybe he’s more than that with good dice rolls.

42. Reggie Evans
C- D+ C- C+ A- C

Rebounding only guy.

43. Craig Smith
B- C- D+ B- B+ D

Good rebounder, not much else of use.

44. Joel Freeland
C+ C C B- B C

Decent on the boards, even stocks and turnovers. Fine as a minimum depth guy.

45. Jordan Hill
B C- D B B- C

Young, maybe some upside. Not much to go on here.

46. David Harrison
B D+ D C+ B+ C

Fine rebounder, not very useful elsewhere.

47. Jermareo Davidson
C D+ D+ B- B C

Below average rebounder with decent stock and stock to turnover numbers.

48. Eduardo Najera
C+ C- D+ B- B+ D

Was blah as a rebounder last year with good stock to turnover numbers in very limited minutes. Fine as a bench depth swing.

49. Solomon Jones
C C- D+ A- B- D

Much better ratings than I would have guessed. Below average rebounder with good stock to turnover numbers in limited career minutes.

50. Anthony Randolph
B- C D- B- B D

Decent rebounding, decent stock to turnover. Could be of use as a depth piece. Already showing D potential at 23.

51. Olumide Oyedeji
D+ D+ D- C+ A- D

Solid rebounder still, limited stocks but good in comparison to his turnover rate. Played a lot the last couple of seasons in Charlotte.

52. Michael Ruffin
C D+ D+ B B D
36 years old. Seems to have been okay in limited minutes the last several seasons, but I would suggest you reread the first sentence.

53. Nenê
C+ C- D A- B D

Never been as good as he looks in terms of ratings. Rebounding is poor and stocks aren’t significant. Turns it over a fair amount.

54. Shelden Williams
C+ C D+ B- B+ C

Hasn’t played at all.

55. Drew Gooden
A- C F+ C+ B+ C

Okay on the boards. Negative stock to turnover guy. Board rate probably flattered by playing in Houston’s offense. Probably not a worthwhile roster spot unless you’re playing an inside focus.

56. Josh Smith
A- B- C B+ C+ C

I don’t think the Josh Smith science project worked out. He is an inefficient yet high-volume shooter. He has solid stock numbers that are unfortunately offset by his propensity to turn the ball over. He’s probably okay as a minimum guy. Doesn’t feel dramatically different from Antoine Walker a few seasons ago.

57. Patrick O'Bryant
C C- C- C+ B+ D

To be clear, this guy isn’t good, but he does have impressive rebounding rate numbers and decent stock and stock to turnover stats. Still, you shouldn’t sign him. But he’d probably put up numbers in the NDL.

58. Jordan Williams
C+ C- D C B C

An impressive 0 block line last season. Steals and turnovers are even. Rebounding is approaching average.

59. Brandon Bass
B+ C C B- C+ B

Not very good at all, but perhaps has some potential left.

60. Troy Murphy
C+ A C C- A- C

If your name is Kevin Love, read this with trepidation. Flat A outside with that rebounding A- he’s had for what feels like his whole career. I don’t think he’s as good on the boards as the A- indicates, and his three point volume isn’t high enough to offset the poor FG% from the floor, while also turnover prone. Hasn’t gotten real minutes in quite a while. Kind of a novelty, maybe a useful minimum guy in a pinch.

61. Tiago Splitter
B- D+ D C+ B+ C

Pretty bad numbers last year in San Antonio in a large sample. Is 31 already.

62. James Johnson
C C C- B+ C+ C

I wonder if he has all the tats yet?

63. Timofey Mozgov
C C F B C+ C

Below average as a rebounder, even stocks and turnovers. Not a lot of use here.

64. Jarron Collins
C+ C- D+ C B C

Not good.

65. Robert Traylor
B- D+ F+ C B- D

Thick as hell.

66. Greg Smith
C D+ F+ B- B- D

Not the worst guy on this list.

67. Tibor Pleiss
C+ B- D C+ C+ B

A fun name.

68. Tyrus Thomas
B D+ D C+ C B

Not of much use.

69. Josh Harrellson
C C+ D+ C C+ C

Poo.

70. Trey Thompkins
C+ C+ D+ C C D

See above.

71. Kosta Koufos
C+ D+ D- C+ C+ C

SLN Kosta Koufos is horrible. Was going to reminisce about one of his matchups v. Golden State and then remembered that I was thinking of Omri Caspi.

72. Antoine Walker
C+ B- D- C B+ F

Anyone that signs this guy gets the tanking police called on them immediately.

73. Jerome Jordan
B- C D- C B- D

Really wants to go back to Portland - we’re not sure we feel the same way.

74. Vernon Macklin
C D+ D C C C

Did I make this name up?
