Went for Merv - helluva turnaround the last couple seasons. KD nice cherry on top bc he had the cap flexibility to do so. Imo this game has delved mostly into who spends the most time on it and Merv put the effort in to get himself here. Kudos sir.
I get that he has played this the longest but dude just gets how to mix having fun and winning. He envisioned his uber defensive team and had it come to fruition. The Sabonis trade gave him an elite front court scorer and rebounder whose turnovers could be offset by the rest of the team.
What Merv did deserves to win as well. For me, trading for KD means you should win. He did have the BBB injury recovery from the shop and planned this one out thoroughly. This award has been brewing for two seasons for both candidates. I just think Jesses was wonkier so im giving it to him.
Strengths: Solid in the post with a decent jump shot and developing range. Decent handles. Might get a steal and a block a game. Rebounding is slightly above average. Decent quickness.
Weaknesses: Positional defense is questionable. Needs to bulk up.
Strengths: Strong finisher. Uses his body well and absorbs contact at the rim. Likes to create on the perimeter. Versatile defender. Gives wings and bigs trouble alike. Solid stock potential. Good strength, athleticism, and quickness.
