Team Awards '26-'27
TL;DR - free RPs for a quick post!
Get these done before the tip of next season!
Every year, every GM's got his studs and it's duds, his craftiest moves and most embarrassing flops. For 75RPs, fill out the answers to the following questions and post it in the thread - think of these as your post-season Dundies, awarding each of the first 4 to players on your team, and then reflect on some of the key moments from your year. Post these whenever! Just get em done before sim 1. Offseason questionnaire will be posted later on.
Once you've posted, DO NOT claim your RP in the RP thread - we will calculate at the end.

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER:
Rui Hachimura. Thought he was deserving of finals MVP. Had a career high in rebounds down 3-2 in game 6. Went nuts for most of the playoffs and well on his way to being the best PF in SLN history
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR:
Zach Edey. Rebound and block lord. Felt a noticeable difference in our defense after his return. Very effective against good bigs in the playoffs.
MOST IMPROVED:
Scoot? We didn’t really have a YoY improvement guy but adding Scoot to the group from the NDL was huge. Maybe Rui? Think he set some career highs.
SIXTH MAN:
Brandon Clarke. Did the dirty work off the bench. We didn’t have a stereotypical bench scorer. Colby Jones would be honorable mention.
BIGGEST SURPRISE:
How much better we got leaning into Jamal at PG. Think that became the real separator once he was averaging ~30+ as a starting PG. He is a top 3 PG
BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT:
None. We won it all. Disney hosted the parade on Main Street USA
TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR:
Bagley for LeBron and X. Think we went 27-6 after getting him. 43-11 if you include the playoffs.
REGRETS:
None.

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Toumani Camara - usually I'm wary when Jesse touts a player continuously, but Toumani Camara is the real deal. He uber efficient, plus rebounder, and positive stock:to. He's a stud on a cheap deal.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Noa Essengue - he many not show up in the statline but he locks opposing wings down. I'm excited to see more of his development.
MOST IMPROVED: None! All my guys were basically rookies, hopefully to see major improvement this upcoming season
SIXTH MAN: Nate Ament - he is going to be a stud! Can play 4 positions but may be best backup 2-5. Excited to see if he develops in a certain area to focus on.
BIGGEST SURPRISE: Dash Daniels - he may have been the steal of the draft snagging him at 13. I knew IRL he will probably be a top 8 picks in the 2026 draft, and loved his notes and noticed he couldn't go to NDL, so I took the chance and it paid off.
BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Our rookies won too many games, not sure how it happened but hopefully it's a good sign for future seasons!
TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: Trading away Paolo and Chet for prospects and picks! The prospects turned out really nice (Camara, Koa, Black). The picks also turned out nice, a lotto pick this season, and I foresee some future lottos in that haul too. I then traded Black for 2 more future picks!
REGRETS: Not losing more! I thought my team was bad enough to be a top 4 pick but finished a game out of the playoffs. Do I start winning or tank another year? Still deciding.

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Ingram. Had one of (if not) his best season offensively.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Nerlens. Averaged 3.5:1.1 Stocks to TOs and only looking to improve.
MOST IMPROVED: Maluach really finding his own in the front court.
SIXTH MAN: Herro. Played very well and ended up being a piece to get a better star in Jokic.
BIGGEST SURPRISE: Nerlens offering to re-sign for $1mil
BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Gelo's steals dropping off a bit.
TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: Getting Jokic after the playoffs to make a run next season.
REGRETS: Not making the playoffs

TEAM AWARDS
MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Wemby. Unsurprisingly he is a monster and continues to get better, I am very lucky to have him. He made his first All-League First Team and we'll hopefully get see if a center can win MVP in FBB (probably not)
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Also Wemby, although he didn't make the All-Defensive team this year, still the backbone of the team
MOST IMPROVED: Amen. His outside shooting has made steady progress over time and he finally made a huge efficiency leap — that and also his turnovers also completely evaporated. He's cemented as one of my favorite players in Raptors history
SIXTH MAN: CMButt. The guy was basically our entire bench playing as a sub 3-4-5 and had to step in during various injuries, etc — he's not a super efficient scorer but I'm hoping a full season as our starting power forward (part of why I moved Joker) will help him in that regard, based on what he did in a small preseason sample in that role last year.
BIGGEST SURPRISE: Our overall team turnovers massively improving internally. I thought this would have led to better results big-picture but shit happens. But Amen, Wemby, Joker and Lonzo all cut down on TOs. There was a stretch midseason where we looked like a contender.
BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Amen missing basically the last third of the season and the playoffs. I think we probably win the division and avoid a first-round out if he's healthy but we were a slightly sub.500 team the rest of the way. Just how the cookie crumbles
TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: I (somewhat surprisingly) only made one move and it was trading for Josh Giddey after Amen's injury. Just felt like we were in a tough spot and it wasn't gonna be worth investing resources into anything expensive
REGRETS: None, was a little sad not to continue the really strong momentum we had from making the conference finals two seasons ago (and trading Jokic without a finals appearance to show for it sucked), but playoff injuries happen to everyone (often us though smh) and we are very fortunate to have a young and mostly cost-controlled roster that's still growing

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Jabari. What a revelation! Basically broke the game as a SG, leading the league in scoring and FTA and popping in every statistical category. Would be curious if historically any other player has averaged 9rpg starting a season at the 2.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Looney. I was concerned this would be the year he didn't offer to resign, but thankfully this humble man loves clam chowder and Irish pubs.
MOST IMPROVED: Jabari. His stat page is pretty nuts YoY.
SIXTH MAN: Lonnie Walker. Huge bounce back year in volume and efficiency, was great as an option off the bench.
BIGGEST SURPRISE: Being as successful as we were while leading the league in TOs.
BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Being pretty healthy all year and then Jabari getting hurt in the first round to lose 4-1.
TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: Was definitely Wiseman, but now it's Justise!
REGRETS: Probably earning a HC penalty by being a moron when I could have avoided it for 250RP at any point. The kids call this a bag fumble I believe

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Markelle Fultz! Dude is elite elite... 30 efficient points a game, flat A defense, 7 boards a game, under 29 and recently made available *eyes emoji*
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Mitch Robinson... 4:1 stocks, just the definition of rim protector, the likes of which we haven't had in a long time. Love this man!
MOST IMPROVED: Hmmm... No one really got better, Dylan Harper had a worse season, Okogie ticked up in TC but down in a small sample size of production, I will go with our starting Small Forward, Andre Roberson!
SIXTH MAN: MPJ crushed it off the bench but I couldn't always afford to play him there when our team died. I like him as a super sub quite a lot. We were super thin last year and got even thinner when 4 starters were out for 20 days together.
BIGGEST SURPRISE: Umm, Jahlil Okafor had an awesome season and I think him and Mitch Rob make a great front court. Maybe the biggest surprise was starting Andre Roberson for meaningful games lol.
BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Has to be the injuries. Okogie for 50 games, Mitch Rob for 40, Jah for 12, MPJ for 12, etc. then losing to the Kings in 7 games despite an average point differential of +7.5/game. Fuck last season
TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: Ayton for Okogie really helped lean into the outside offense. I love Okogie and think he is an elite SG.
REGRETS: Probably tuning out when my team died and not trying to upgrade our bench with Cousin's MLE contract. Think we left some moves on the table
