MOST VALUABLE PLAYER:
Weird year where I traded my best dudes several times. I guess Jimmy by the time my roster settled? Or Dejounte?
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR:
Kwame is still a dude on defense. On a per 36 basis, did 3.2 stocks and 13.1 rebounds with flat A defense presumably meaning he’s solid as a positional defender
MOST IMPROVED:
Draymond had a major improvement year, with improved rebounding and some stocks to go with decent offensive efficiency. Hoping he keeps ticking up this season and the long term flat deal looks increasingly valuable
SIXTH MAN:
Also probably Draymond - he was a great 3-5 sub for most of the season.
BIGGEST SURPRISE:
I really thought we’d be a lot better when Kyrie came back but we weren’t, which pushed me to move on from Kyrie etc. I love Dejounte though and think he could be a stud as he continues to progress.
BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT:
Same as the surprise above - Kyrie seemingly just didn’t make us better when he got back and I panicked thinking he might sit again if we headed towards missing the playoffs
TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR:
I traded the back-to-back 2014-2015 MVP Kyrie for eventual 2016 MVP Jrue for Jimmy and a future stud PG in Dejounte. I also picked up Harrison Barnes, Jordan Clarkson, Tristan Thompson, and a couple of FRPs along the way. So ya I was involved in some big ones. I like where I landed though - reloaded with partially camped high upside prospects and a top tier 2-way wing in Jimmy that should all help me navigate the next few seasons while I still don’t have my picks
REGRETS:
None really. My trade moves were certainly not what people expected and surely some people like them and others don’t but I was ready to get off of Kyrie’s rollercoaster ride and just feel less pressure to constantly make moves to try to appease him.
