Sheppard and SGA were turnover whores at point guard despite being elite defensively and I think in part is because of shooting guard camps. I wanted to ensure he wouldn’t turn it over as much as those guys first, and then would be efficient second before trying to get volume

everyone talks about the TOs but both shep and shai were even or better in stock:TO differential last year. how many PGs can say the same while putting up high volume numbers and efficiently?

I think it’s hard to win playoff series with a point guard doing 3.5 turnovers a game, easier to team build around a game manager especially when we are committed to MPJ for awhile

no doubt is easier but there’s a threshold of volume i think a PG needs to win playoff games or they’ll get outscored night in and out - unless you surround that PG with the best wings in the league. we all know the league is changing and either team build could win out over time, but i see TOs becoming less important as the league shifts towards a higher TO league. surely could make teams who don’t turn it over more OP, but will those teams have enough talent to win big games ? we shall shai what happens as we sheppard in a new normal
