We're back, after a year's hiatus, MERVALYTICS IS HERE! Did someone say content frenzy? Because your boy has a free weekend and might make a lot of content. There's a rebuild going on down in Orlando, we need the RP and we need to properly market our players unlike some of this propaganda that is often in trade blocks. Note, 500 MP to be included.
Free Throw Rate (All SLN)
Image
Newly minted San Antonio Spur leads the way going to the line roughly 3 out of every 5 shots. Notable Magicians on the list, Pops Menah-Bonsu at 6 and Andrew Bogut at 10, however neither of them can make the free throws, so that was fun this season. Eddy Curry, Dwight Howard, Greg Oden, and Chris Bosh lead the way as high usage players that consistently get to the line. Meanwhile Al Hefty continues to be the best bang for your buck when it comes to fouling out opponents and converting at the line...we miss you Al
Free Throw Rate (SF-SG-PG)
Image
Of course big MFers go to the line, but what about the little guys!? Shaun Livingston is pretty much automatic at the line and Kevin Durant is pretty broken with that level of USG%, scoring, and getting to the line. Other notable call outs, YI JIANLIAN!! My guy is 6th and lives at the line. DeMar DeRozan is lethal from the line and gets there at a nice rate just like real life.
3 Point Attempt Rate
Image
Avery Bradley doesn't shoot much, but when he does it's probably a 3. Of the higher usage guys, Jameer, Lou Will, and Jamal get 'em up with the best of them.

Rebounding

Image
Darko Milicic was the best rebounder in the league heading into FA. Utah is going to have to pay up with keep the Slavic corner intact. A host of notable FA's decorate this list with Darko at 1, Dampier at 3, Diop at 4, Hump at 10, Duncan at 11, JO the Bash Bro at 13, Perk at 14, and Petro at 15.

Tiny Rebounding

Image
I wanted to take PF's and C's out of the rebounding leaderboard to see who can really drive value. The answer? KG and KD who are more 4's than 3's in terms of usage made a huge difference for their squads. One thing to call out and definitely not use as a sales pitch, the elite wing rebounders stand pretty well above the rest of the pack as it tends to flatten out pretty quickly. If only the 8th ranked guy on the list were available.
Rim Protection
Image
Borschtfart is the top shot blocker in SLN. 2 retired fellas in the Candy Man and Malik Allen are in the top 5. RIP. Magician Emeka Okafor (He's on the block y'all) comes in at 21 ahead of notorious shot blocksers like Kwame Brown and Samuel Dalembert. Shout out to Bloodsport, coming in at 43 and beating Petro and Haywood in BLK%.
Turnovers
Image
Notably missing, Deron Williams! Lou ADMUNSON gets a lot of rebounds and hands them to the other team. Avery Bradley leads the way as the backcourt player most likely to play hot potato. Joakim Noah too busy running point center in Phoenix also tended to hand the ball to the other team a fair amount. Danny Green's handles problem has followed him from the NDL putting him at 41st.

Lack of Turnovers

Image
Enjoy Dirk Heimer, he only shoots it. No passing to the other team. Luis Scola and Kevin Love are the best bigs at not turning it over probably because they just shoot it every time. Tony Parker remains a cheatcode as a PG with the 3rd best TOV% in SLN. High USG big, LaMarcus Aldridge shows he has some of the safest hands in the league coming in at just 6.1%.

Usage

Image
Jamal Crawford shot it every time he felt leather. Carmelo Anthony came close but couldn't quite match JCrossover's prolific shooting. Kyrie shows the makings of a superstar scorer with insane volume already but you probably have to pass that psycho the ball. Milos Teodosic is a proper tank commander using a higher percentage of possessions than Lou Williams.

Stock:TO

Image
Pretty sure Borschtfart broke the table here. He comes in 152% above 2nd place which is absurd. Curtis is a stocky MF who hates turning it over. Emeka Okafor, guys, he's 5th! Come get him! Hasheem Thabeet showing some signs of life and could be a nice flier as someone who continues to develop later.

Le Merv

Image
Last but not least, the crescendo if you will. The Merv ratio aka the bang for your buck ratio. TS% multiplied by USG%. Who is the most efficient for the shot attempts. As usual, Jamal Crawford and Melo dominate this list. There are some fun names later as Jimmy Butler and Klay Thompson are battling it out for best wing in their draft class. Carlos Arroyo continues to be a bucket ranking 43rd. Additionally, Eric Gordon unlike his cousins Eric Grodon and Eric Groudon, turned in a pretty effective year as a backcourt gunner for the Lakers and is available for cheap!
