2013 TANKR Ratings - Day 50
Posted: April 26th, 2024, 8:15 am
Taking a look at the ol' TANKR ratings. Some outliers: the Blazers are getting 1.5 more boards than any other team; the Mavericks are getting 2.2 more stocks than any other team; the Rockets are allowing 4.4 fewer oPPG than any other team; and the Knicks are the worst at everything!

THE INNER CIRCLE - These guys are a cut above the rest through Day 50. Even playing 59% of games at home couldn't keep the Kings out of this tier. They all come from the Western Conference...
Rockets
Mavericks
Kings
THE SECOND SANCTUM - Not as rock solid as the above teams, but still elite. A really, really good team in the West is not getting home court in Round 1 - sheesh!
Blazers
Nuggets
Bucks
BEST OTHER SHOTS AT TOP 6 - Everyone here is knocking on the door of Top 6 - a couple good sims and any of these teams could jump a tier. I recognize the Celtics are the #1 seed, but I think my formula has rightfully dinged Boston for playing 23 of their 35 games at home (66%).
Sixers
Celtics
Pistons
Bullets
Jazz
Bulls
GOOD BUT NOT GREAT - You're not thrilled to face any of these teams in a playoff series, as you'll have to contend with huge butts - Yao, Oden, Bosh, Bogut and more. These guys can upset you in a blink.
Hornets
Sonics
Pacers
Heat
MID - These squads are looking like 8 seed material, if they can make the playoffs.
Clippers
Spurs
Raptors
Hawks
Grizzlies
NOT GREAT, BOB! - These guys all have point differentials worse than -6. They can't board, they can't play defense, they have trouble with ball security... lotto here we come!
Nets
T-Wolves
Warriors
Magic
TANK GODS - The absolute best of the best at losing games. Negative double digit point differentials all around. Nav would have his own tier, but he's only played 29% of games at home.
Suns
Lakers
Cavaliers
Knicks
