Strengths: Very good scorer. Good inside game with a very smooth stroke from range. Decent handles. Might get close to a steal. Decent strength and quickness.

Weaknesses: Defense and rebounding aren't good.

Scout's Take: Hield apparently made 85 out of 100 threes in a recent workout and also told reporters he thinks he's going to the Magic. Neither of those two things matter much -- we already knew he could shoot, and a leap into the top two would be stunning. Regardless, the elite three-point stroke and an otherwise regular skill-set gives the JJ Redick comps credence. Hield should be able to help you right away.

Now, that stroke will have to be his calling card, as his the rest of his game is solid but not high-end anywhere else. His ballhandling and decision-making aren’t yet at SLN level, and career variance is high for prolific college guards in his mold (think about J.J. Redick, then think about Jimmer Fredette)
