2016-17 Day 1 FA Grades

A bunch of teams with cap space, not a bunch of surefire stars. I'm only writing up the bigger names right now. Let me know what you think and if I am being too generous. Let's get right into it:
Nuggets sign Monta Ellis
7 years -- $168,437,500
Grade: B
After a championship, Kipke needed to keep the core together, and to do so, needed to resign Monta for whatever it took. It took a full max to make sure not to lose him. The story here is how long can Monta stay worth it. Only time will tell.
Knicks sign Rudy Gay
3 years -- $57,750,000
Grade: A
Gay has proven he's worth it. On a short term deal, I see no risk. Knicks are ready to start winning again after getting all the TC luck the last few camps. After everyone shit on me for believing, Rudy is worth every penny.
Kings sign LaMarcus Aldridge
6 years -- $137,117,832
Grade: B+
Jesse beat the market in resigning LMA. He may have been the biggest fish of the FA class. It's a very large contract for a guy in his early 30s, but Jesse is going all in on Inside and can increase his longevity. I forgot Jesse resigned LMA today until Josh told me because I was surprised Jesse didn't go after Blake Griffin hard to pair with Boban and Yao. Josh told me that would make absolutely no sense. Hence, Jesse resigned LMA.
Grizzlies sign CJ Miles
4 years -- $55,692,000
Grade: F
He's coming off a bad season. He's not that good. Waste of money. I'm angry.
Spurs sign Tracy McGrady
MLE
Grade: B
Good signing at this number especially if he can still get stocks since he is negative on offense now.
Bullets sign Thabo Sefolosha
1 year -- $9,000,000
Grade: B
Already on the trade block. Will be moved for value as he's been a championship piece.
Magic sign Darko Milicic
2 years -- $34,000,000
Grade: B
Not a bad deal. Just unsure how many takers out there for the contract willing to pay up. Maybe Merv flips the switch a little early, but certainty shouldn't use the shooting camp on Darko.
Pistons sign Draymond Green
7 years - $47,075,000
Grade: A-
Sub $7m AAV is not bad for a young guy with potential left. Still unsure why Draymond is at SF (change that ASAP?). It's a good risk/reward contract that can certainly be very valuable one day.
Bullets sign Harrison Barnes
4 years -- $51,721,500
Grade: B
He's already on the block, and already moved. He's a young wing with potential yet and has shown flashes. Based on his notes, seems like he will develop later, but worth the flyer if he can become something. Another good risk/reward signing.
Mavericks sign Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
7 years -- $87,500,000
Grade: A-
I needed to resign him and think I got him at good value at less than max and no increases. He's still only 23 and locked up at $12.5m until he's 30.
Bullets sign John Henson
3 years -- $28,372,500
Grade: A-
Another guy already on the block. Good value on that deal. Let's see how much Weston can squeeze out, but there are definitely biters out there that will pay for him and this contract.
