Al Horford. He’s basically the only guy who performed at expectation

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR:
Alex Caruso. He had some amazing games with stocks and wrecked some opposing PGs

Dwight Powell? It was a bad year

SIXTH MAN:
Marcus Smart, he did fine

BIGGEST SURPRISE:
Dwight Powell looking solid

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT:
The whole team. What is shooting

Jay Williams? Idk this was bad

REGRETS:
Getting OJ Mayo. Got greedy. Game has punished me

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Jerryd Bayless. He prevented me from getting top lotto odds and was a little surprised no one wanted him before the Knicks took him at the deadline. He finished the year averaging 22points on very good splits 47/46/84. Also pitching in over 2 steals per game with only 2.4Tos.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Yi Jianlian. Not a ton of defense on the squad this year but Yi averaged over 1 steal and block per game this season. Able to switch between the 3 and 4 he’s a swiss army knife that deserves to play for a winning team!

MOST IMPROVED: Christian Wood. Still trying to figure out if he’s a 3 or 4 but he added more scoring volume and TOs aren’t a major issue. Excited to see how he continues developing, especially with his A pot.

SIXTH MAN: Nick Young. Swaggy P came off the bench shooting nearly 45% from 3! He had a few big scoring games and was voted favorite teammate by his peers.

BIGGEST SURPRISE: Pascal Siakam. Came out firing his rookie year with decent volume. Over a steal per game while playing a mix of the 3 and 4. Also surprising is 2.7TOs but he was an option most of the year so hopefully that inflated it.

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Tayshaun Prince. He appeared to have died this past offseason. Played him a mix at the 2 and 3 and he just has no volume left. Only averaged about 7pts per game on a team that was allergic to scoring. Oh well he’s 36 and had a lot of great years.

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: Jerryd Bayless. Getting rid of him was crucial for us improving our lotto odds and we picked up a late 1st for him. Wish he was gone earlier in the year.

REGRETS: Harrison Barnes trade. I panicked when the first few teams I reached out to had no interest in him so settled with ditching him to the first team that was interested. Probably could have gotten at least one 1st out of the Mavs or more RP. Oh well, we’ll try again this free agency!

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Kevin Love, first team all SLN for the second time, immaculate glow up, finally went vegan and started seeing a therapist.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Tyus Jones, top 10 steals guy

MOST IMPROVED: Tyus Jones, emerged as a potential top tier PG in this league, high steals low TO, and is due a +8 for 3pt shooting next TC.

SIXTH MAN: Shabazz Muhammad, the prize of the Parker trade. Hopefully continues developing into a solid SG.

BIGGEST SURPRISE: Kevin Loves comeback

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: I was hoping for a little more from Jaylen Brown offensively but SFs take the longest to develop.

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: Kawhi for Tyus and Jaylen Brownstein

REGRETS:I think just trading Deandre Jordan, Perk played well but I shouldnt have made that trade. Silver lining was trading grant was needed to get me over the hump for getting Shabazz.

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Boogie, he rewarded my multiple months of pining after him with some monstrous play and I love him

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Deandre, he’s the best defensive big we’ve had in Canada and hope I can keep him around a while. Was a monster

MOST IMPROVED: Yaro. Not sure how he keeps improving but he’s insanely good. Love him so much. Aaron Gordon a close second but Yaro took a jump that I didn’t expect

SIXTH MAN: Jeff Green. He held it down! I appreciate his services. Yes Jeff

BIGGEST SURPRISE: Malcolm Brogdon carrying the team for about a third of the season. Losing Livingston was horrible but it was at least fun to see Brogdon perform as a rookie. Nice depth piece for us with Tony Parker getting older.

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Livingston’s untimely death. Probably one of the most brutal injuries in SLN history? Maybe even worse than losing Hakeem the day before the playoffs. Smh

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: Boogie put us over the top, so I’ll say him, but we welcomed many new faces

REGRETS: Maybe trading away Livingston. I think we’ll be set up fine without him, but I love him as a player and it sucked to trade him. Had to go for it but still sucks

TEAM AWARDS - CAVS!!!

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Zach Lavine - he has turned into a volume god, and is pretty efficient - 25 PPG, and 32 PPG in the playoffs almost led us to a big upset

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Nerlens Noel, the Stockness monster himself. He's going to get a bag from me this offseason. He is a steal king

MOST IMPROVED: DLo - he didn't really play much last year, but he stepped in as a backup and did a pretty admirable job scoring pretty efficiently

SIXTH MAN: A toss up between Jared Sullinger and Granger. I'll give it to Sullinger because he came off the bench most and was a really solid big man, positive stock to TO, and we had a net positive in the rebound fight

BIGGEST SURPRISE: Making the playoffs. I still thought we were a year away, but the Crowder deal and finally having a scorer come off the bench really helped us post All Star break

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Losing in the first round after winning the first two road games. I probably should've altered my DC more knowing Nav had some stuff up his sleeve, or trying Nerlens on Embiid rather than Gortat, but alas, learned from it

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: Jae Bae Crowder - 30 and 21 after the trade

REGRETS: None - go cleveland

TEAM AWARDS

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Dwight Howard. Was unhealthy most of the season and then extremely unproductive in a Very Fast offense. Thanks, big guy.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: OJ Mayo. 1 steal to 2 turnovers per contest was exactly what the doctor ordered.

MOST IMPROVED: Javonte Green. Went from being a decent prospect to a guy JWoo was paying me to take on. Ka-ching

SIXTH MAN: Jeremy Lamb. He was actually good and someone should trade for him. Slashed 46/42/79 on even steals and turnovers. Not what we were looking for, but should be of use to someone.

BIGGEST SURPRISE: How much a Very Fast offense would tank D12. My guy dropped his rebounding rate by like 20%.

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: The lotto! Had already photoshopped Tatum into a Blazers jersey.

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: Probably getting my picks back in exchange for Big Al. He put up solid numbers in Orlando but isn't lighting the world on fire. If he becomes like, Lauri Markkenen in this draft, I'm going to feel pretty good about the way things worked out

REGRETS: The Dwight Howard mega deal. If he were not on my books, I could have made multiple max salary slots

TEAM AWARDS

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Michael Beasley. Basically did Carmelo numbers this year, career year across the board production wise. 9.3 boards at the SF!

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Larry Sanders. Dude came out of an awesome camp and did 3.5:1 stock to TO to go along with quality rebounding.

MOST IMPROVED: Larry Sanders! Had a bit of a turnover issue last year and not great on the glass, but managed to round out both those skillsets (with an expensive camp)

SIXTH MAN: Bynum. Mid-season acquisition that helped us lead the league in blocks for the first time since the KMart days.

BIGGEST SURPRISE: Jamal Crawford not retiring! What a legend.

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Paul George having a weird down year after 4 good years and staying flat in camp. Hopefully its just a random aberration

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: Andrew Bynum!

REGRETS: Not being more aggressive at the deadline to get more efficient scoring - figured we would just regress naturally

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: CJ Miles is an elite SF - one of the best in the league. 32 PPG with super high 3P shot rate at 47% shooting. 7+ boards. Positive turnover differential. Maybe I should have traded him to a competitor but I wanted him for this coming season.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: The Capela supercamp seems to have worked. 2.7 blocks a game as a 22 y/o.

MOST IMPROVED: Capela. See above. He was an average backup and became a good starter

SIXTH MAN: Pierce. I moved him to the sub mid-season. Shot 48%, still got blocks. Still a winning player, now on a cheap salary

BIGGEST SURPRISE: Exum looks like a starter. and I was surprised to only get the 8 seed with my +5 differential

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Playing the jazz in R1.

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: Kris Dunn with pick 15 looks like it was a good move.

REGRETS: None

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER:
Whole year, gotta be Deron. Balled out at both PG and SG and made the Jrue move possible.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR:
Drummond. What a step forward in his fifth year! 4.4 stocks and 13.9 rpg.

MOST IMPROVED:
Drummond again. His leap forward made this season possible.

SIXTH MAN:
Tobias Harris. Added a ton of scoring variance off the bench as a 1/2 sub, sometimes at 1-3 sub. Can't wait to see how he develops, he's only 24!

BIGGEST SURPRISE:
Game 7 Deron!!!

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT:
None. A magical season.

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR:
Has to be acquiring Jrue. I was missing the PG defense to be a real contender in past years. Jimmy and Dejounte are fantastic (way better than people think) and will crush it in Detroit. Love my guys.

REGRETS:
None again!
