Please offer a belated welcome to the new Mavs GMs - David Storch and Daniel Kogan! There was far too much interest from the Highland Park Jewish basketball community to choose just 1.

These GMs are fortunate to step into a promising franchise with the steal of the 1997 draft and their own twin towers (in another Texan city) in the front court (I know they aren't the same height but they have basically the same stats). While they would have preferred to run the Bulls (like any Chicagoan), they are now happily Narc Cuban.

Storch has a fantastic story from playing Joy of the Game travel basketball in the Chicago North Shore involving a future NBA lottery pick. Storch - please share below. Storch has lived in Miami since 2012 and works in real estate investing.

After agreeing to participate in the league, I found out that Kogan somehow knows a couple of you GMs? At least Mitch? In 2019, Kogan brought me to the Bulls old practice facility right before it was demolished. He may or may not have dunked in front of a championship banner. Kogan lived in Chicago and recently Denver, but has relocated to Miami so he can effectively strategize with his co-GM. Kogan is a consultant at KPMG.

Storch and Kogan have revealed themselves to be flippers, and as owners/GM Narc Cubans, have already sold the franchise within one week. They admit I adequately warned them about the time commitment but they didn't realize they were LOSERS. They will be berated for this when I see them over Thanksgiving. Hopefully the FBB gods don't punish my TC for this development.


Fortunately, we found a new GM quickly who has been acquainting himself with the platform and team over the last couple days. Welcome Nate Weinhoff - the covert GM who was responsible for the Sam Cassell / Steve Smith + Mike James trade. He's eager to keep dealing so get at him.


Nate works with me in New York. Like Storch and Kogan, he is a Jewish basketball fan, but he is a Knicks and Michigan fan from Armonk. Nate believes the Knicks "could be competitive" this year. I think he has a gambling problem so he'll fit in great here. His lock of the week is Eagles -10.5.

also this makes much more sense why “The Narcs“ didn’t value Mookie lol. You had to see how he carried the Suns single handedly to the brink of a finals appearance first hand to understand the man’s value can’t be put on pen and paper.

Thanks JoshG and all other GMs! This is no one and done GM. The MAVS are here to be competitive every year -- no tanking in the future "Title Town". I have already spent countless hours on this league acquainting myself.

At first, I did feel like Danny Ainge when he started for the Celtics and Jazz. I have tremendous winning pieces but they are not mine, nor should I feel attached to them in anyway. Do I trade all my pieces for picks? Maybe '03 picks?? Or do I continue with my core, trade for a younger vet PG and grow into a championship contender right away with PROPER management.

The latter was chosen. Good luck to the western conference and winner of the east. And always remember, this does not mean I am closed off to trading. I am open to trades any time, all hours of the day... because it is fun.
