The Franchise Pt3: Lord of the Tank - Dirk & Back Again (Author - Nick)

The Sonics are changed. I feel it in the water. I feel it in the earth. I smell it in the Herb. Much that once was is lost, for none now play who remember it. It began with the forging of the Great Tank. Six were given from the Suns, immortal, wisest and fairest of all beings. 4 sent sent to the Blue-Balls, great ballers and craftsmen of the mountain prospects. And 100, 100 days were gifted to the 28 competitors of SLN, who above all else desired Rings and prospects. For within these days of the Tank was bound the strength and the freedom to play each game without fear. But they were all of them deceived, for another Prospect was made. Deep in the land of Seattle, in the Fires of Mount Rainier, the Dark Lord Bezos forged a master Prospect, and into this Prospect he poured his cruelty, his malice and his will to dominate all opponents.
One Dirk to rule them all.
One by one, the free lands of Nirvana fell to the power of the Dirk, but there were some who resisted. A last alliance of tanks and garbage collectors cleaned the streets of Seattle, one last time. On the very shores of Seattle, they traded for the shittiest players of Nirvana. Another top 5 pick odds was near, but the power of Dirk could not be undone. It was in this moment, when all hope had faded, that Curry, steward of Bezos, took up his master’s tank. Seattle, blight of the free teams of Nirvana, was safe… this year. Dirk passed into the shadow realm, who had this one chance to end the tank forever, but the heart of Curry is easily corrupted. And the Tank of power has a will of its own. It betrayed Dirk, to the death of his rookie season.
And some PF’s that should not have been forgotten were faded. Dirk became legend. Legend became myth. And for one more season, the Sonics passed out of all knowledge. Darkness crept back into the sims of the league. Rumor grew of a shadow in the Northwest, whispers of a nameless fear, and the Tank of Power perceived its time will come.
For the time will soon come when Dirk will shape the fortunes of all.
