2018-19 Offseason Questionnaire

1. Draft thoughts? Sleepers, busts, your draft, other drafts, whatever.

Top of the draft was pretty meh. But this was the best second round ever in terms of interesting guys? I mean Grant Williams and Dean Wade went undrafted! Thrilled to get Keldon at 30, he’d have been around 16 on my board. Jordan Poole will probably suck but it’s fun

2. How do you feel about your offseason, and what are your goals for this coming season?
DMo hates me. But I guess we’ll just compete since trades feel out of reach

3. Thoughts on TC?
Wasn’t much that happened. Prayers up for the NDL

4. Who wins each division and why?

Atlantic: Magic
Central: Hawks
Midwest: Spurs
Pacific: Dubz

5. There are very few tankers (yay!) - should any team be looking to blow it up? Why?
The Knicks. Get embiid TF out of my division

6. Excluding your team, what is the player or team storyline you're going to be watching most closely this year?
Dubz baby. It’s all about the Bay

7. With the current champs blowing it up, predict the finals matchup in 19-20, the winner and number of games.
Magic - Spurs, Magic in 4 after Kawhi gets Linsanity

8. What non-rookie player is going to show the most drastic improvement after camps this season? Who will show the most decline?
Devin Booker! Eddy Curry

9. Thoughts on your real life sports team(s).
Less words the better

10. Movies, TV, books, games, whatever recommendations.
Slow Horses does it again

2018-19 Offseason Questionnaire

1. Draft thoughts? Sleepers, busts, your draft, other drafts, whatever.

Back to not having any picks, so didn't look too closely. Think I'm higher on Zion than league sentiment - looks like he'll have Shaq-esque (that sounds like a Swiss FIFA midfielder) offense, and while the blocks/boards may not be there yet, I trust in 100 potential. If Ashes didn't give him potential, this take will age poorly!

I liked Bol Bol (already a bad take given his TC), Matisse Thybulle, Max Strus, Brandon Clarke, and Cam Reddish as other random guys that I think have a good shot. Tacko Fall in the 2nd round also is interesting to me, as is Bruno Fernando who had insane combine games.

Was not super high on Naz Reid, but potential cures everything!

2. How do you feel about your offseason, and what are your goals for this coming season?

Offseason has been quiet - didn't really have anyone to resign besides Mahinmi, lost Gorgui to an MLE (enjoy Jordo), and didn't have a pick. We did finish off camps for Brooks / Caris / Derrick White and supercamped Frankie Smokes, so hoping to see some improved boxes.

Goal for this season is to win a playoff series. Our true championship window will (hopefully) open up next season after Luka's supercamp - but until then, we're just trying to be a thorn in the upper echelon of the East's side.

3. Thoughts on TC

Not great, not bad. The most important piece was Luka continuing to develop, which he did - especially seeing his Inside jump was a big deal. Pretty ho hum across the board for everyone else, but liked seeing our patchwork frontcourt hold the line for the most part (including 39 year old Yao who didn't move).

4. Who wins each division and why?

Atlantic: Knicks. Embiid is broken
Central: Hawks. Durant is broken
Midwest: Idk, tough one. Grizz? Porzingis may ascend this year
Pacific: Warriors. Jrue up to A+ outside and gotta think Tatum breaks out at some point

5. There are very few tankers (yay!) - should any team be looking to blow it up? Why?

Talked about this on a pod that didn't get saved (RIP) but I think the TWolves should seriously consider this - they have all their picks, they could get a ton of assets for KAT and Giannis, and it's gonna be tough to fill out the roster enough to be a championship team without non-MIN picks as assets.

6. Excluding your team, what is the player or team storyline you're going to be watching most closely this year?

The Raptors with LeBron! It was a big swing from Jwoo to get LeBron to take his talents to basically the exact opposite of South Beach. I'm personally a bit bearish on the move, just because I think DJ and Korolev were two of the best in the league at their positions and were huge reasons why the Raptors were so successful. Hoping that Jwoo proves me wrong for the sake of the tree - but regardless of how the experiment goes, it'll be fascinating to watch.

7. With the current champs blowing it up, predict the finals matchup in 19-20, the winner and number of games.

Knicks over Spurs in 6

8. What non-rookie player is going to show the most drastic improvement after camps this season? Who will show the most decline?

Jaylen Brown. I think this is the year we see him truly ascend to super-duperstar status.

Feel like it's time for Yao to die but he just won't do it!

9. Thoughts on your real life sports team(s).

Bears can't have nice things - we finally are set up for some amount of sustained success and are somehow at the same time are in the worst situation of any team in our division. The NFC North is like as good as any division I can remember in football.

Excited for basketball to come back but not excited to have to root for the Bulls again.

10. Movies, TV, books, games, whatever recommendations.

Just watched the Menendez Netflix series. Pretty weird.

1. Draft thoughts? Sleepers, busts, your draft, other drafts, whatever.

Was torn between KPJ and Cam Johnson at No. 12 and not sure I made the right decision but excited about KPJ's long-term upside. Was also glad to get Chuma who I think will be a legit player and will get a little NDL time. Fun draft that grew on me the more I dug into it, a lot of depth, very flat, going to be some guys who pop that weren't obvious, I think. Also pumped about Paschall who should nuke the NDL with A- inside scoring lol.

2. How do you feel about your offseason, and what are your goals for this coming season?

Very excited to finally get to play around with Bron even though it's maybe a few years later than I wanted. The clock was ticking on my roster, we were getting more expensive, we didn't guard at as high a level and hit a very noticeable wall offensively. Still won 58 games and prob make it out of the first round with healthy DeAndre, but started to feel like that team was ready for a shakeup, and I didn't want the back end years on DJ and Yaro as much as I love those guys.

I would like to get LeBron a title, he's making so much money this year that the margins are a little tricky, but goal is the same as usual, just to win as much as possible and try to get a fifth straight division championship.

3. Thoughts on TC?

TC was acceptable for us, nothing crippling happened, Wendell Carter and KPJ got better, AG is now A inside scoring, and most importantly LeBron is still great (his rebounding bump is pretty helpful). Will take what we can get. League-wide didn't feel like anything super seismic happened, but that's kinda the nature of the thing I've learned.

4. Who wins each division and why?

Atlantic: Magic, everyone is coming back and that offense is nasty with four flat-A shooters
Central: Raptors because culture
Midwest: Spurs, love the makeup of their roster right now
Pacific: Suns, super consistent team, but I think the Warriors will be on their heels with another move or two

5. There are very few tankers (yay!) - should any team be looking to blow it up? Why?

Said this on a recent pod but I think Miami sticks out as a team that's in a very good spot to pivot, with picks and a roster that isn't getting younger.

6. Excluding your team, what is the player or team storyline you're going to be watching most closely this year?

I think the Bucks are on the cusp of being a problem, Sonics and also Hornets are in a really interesting spot, good opportunities for some of these teams pivoting out of tanks to emerge. Curious who gets aggressive.

7. With the current champs blowing it up, predict the finals matchup in 19-20, the winner and number of games.

Image

Raptors in seven

8. What non-rookie player is going to show the most drastic improvement after camps this season? Who will show the most decline?

Hard to pick one breakout. Maybe Bam or someone else who got a supercamp? This is a hard question. Didn't see any noticeable deaths. Probably Kevon Looney

9. Thoughts on your real life sports team(s).

I've missed the last two Bears games and am cautiously ready to watch again but also afraid of jinxing it

10. Movies, TV, books, games, whatever recommendations.

I don't have other hobbies besides SLN what are we talking about

Warriors: 2018-19 Offseason Questionnaire

1. Draft thoughts? Sleepers, busts, your draft, other drafts, whatever.
Peep my articles but i guess,
Sleepers: John Konchar, Nassir Little, Keldon Johnson, Jalen McDaniels, Terence Davis
Busts: Too early to tell
My draft: No draft
Other drafts: I really liked Jesses draft as a whole regardless of value of Clarke at 13. Thought he hit good picks everywhere else. Burnsy has been Acing the draft for the past few years and does it w/ only one pick. Derek went overkill w/ bigs but fuck it he went w/ the board and i like it. Every team that used a 2nd rounder, i basically fuck w/ all those teams drafts lol.

2. How do you feel about your offseason, and what are your goals for this coming season?
Well, we were super broke so i am glad that JRich resigned, regardless on if any other team values him like that. I guess my season all depends on whether it was smart to back out of a blockbuster that was 100% complete or not. Atm based on answer to #3 it was a bad choice.

3. Thoughts on TC?
Jrue didnt regress and instead went up to A+ outside which is cool. Id be beyond happy if that lasts. I thought Oladipo would tick up after another elite SG season. Held the line. Adams went from A- def to B+ which is extremely disappointing. Muscala and Delly went down; Muscala dropped in four categories. Wtf is that. Bari at PF helped him improve his handles and reb which is nice. Tatum looks like he is on the cusp of superstardom.

Idk overall id say im fucking livid at our TC but whatever. It doesnt help that Sabonis looks like a future god over in Indy or that Kennard is a flat A outside.

4. Who wins each division and why?

Atlantic: NYK
Central: TOR
Midwest: SAS
Pacific: PHX

5. There are very few tankers (yay!) - should any team be looking to blow it up? Why?
Honestly i think the league is at a stalemate rn with this. I think there is solid parity and no teams that “should” blow it up.

6. Excluding your team, what is the player or team storyline you're going to be watching most closely this year?
Indiana. Sabonis.

7. With the current champs blowing it up, predict the finals matchup in 19-20, the winner and number of games.
Atlanta Hawks vs Golden State. 5 Games. Hawks.

8. What non-rookie player is going to show the most drastic improvement after camps this season? Who will show the most decline?
Most decline has gotta be Muscala fml. Tyus Jones most improved.

9. Thoughts on your real life sports team(s).

10. Movies, TV, books, games, whatever recommendations.

1. Draft thoughts? Sleepers, busts, your draft, other drafts, whatever.
Such a weird draft class where everyone is polarizing, bunch of flawed but fun players. Zion is going to be sick. Bol Bol might bust like in real life. I got Strus and Naz little, two very different SFs (I have too many wings but who cares). Really like how Max Strus is already an A- outside guy. He's going to cook in the NDL. Think the bigs are going to make immediate impacts for their teams.

2. How do you feel about your offseason, and what are your goals for this coming season?
Made more changes than I anticipated but overall feel great. Moved Bosh for Beasley and a first today because fuck them picks. Bosh helped a lot last year, but felt I needed a real third scorer with Lavine and DLo and Beasley felt like a fun guy to fill that gap. We bring up some + defenders in Thon Maker and OG Anunoby from the NDL, and we have a pretty deep team. Looking to get past that 6-8 seed range and take a leap from last year.

3. Thoughts on TC?
It was eh. Lots of guys held the line, but Lavine and DLO both went up in inside so that should help volume. Max Strus went up. Big story was Thon Maker's NDL and supercamp, already an A- defender, but now reaching a B+ rebounding(!!!) from C+ last year. first time using the NDL resigning contract, i'm pretty stoked and hope he can thrive next to Nerlens long term.

4. Who wins each division and why?

Atlantic: Magic - Knicks take a slight step back with DWades retirement and
Central: Cavs - bet on yourself - but always a toss up between the hawks and the raps
Midwest: Spurs - Adding Jimmy and Ersan was a nice touch- this team is sick
Pacific: Suns - holy shit did the Pacific become the best division over night? I think the suns are still top dog, Jokic looks unreal

5. There are very few tankers (yay!) - should any team be looking to blow it up? Why?
The Heat or the clippers. Everyone is kind of going for it in both divisions (I guess except for the Sonics, but dont count out Nick!) and both have some juicy players (Klay and DRose) on the older side that could net great value

6. Excluding your team, what is the player or team storyline you're going to be watching most closely this year?
The Pacers Warriors trade from last year and how it evolves. Sabonis looks crazy good after his TC. How does a full year with Jrue look in the Bay. Second goes to how do the new look Celtics look. Can they make the playoffs?

7. With the current champs blowing it up, predict the finals matchup in 19-20, the winner and number of games.
Spurs - Hawks - Hawks in 6

8. What non-rookie player is going to show the most drastic improvement after camps this season? Who will show the most decline?
Camps happened right? I guess on court production - Taurean Prince I guess - A- A- is no joke. Decline... Yao hopefully so I can have a solid pick from the Bulls

9. Thoughts on your real life sports team(s).
Jayden Daniels is very real and good. Sucks to lose Jon Allen for the season, our bad defense is going to be worse. The Wizards are going to stink but I think Alex Sarr is going to be solid earlier than people expect.

10. Movies, TV, books, games, whatever recommendations.
I've binged the first 2 seasons of Industry over the past couple of weeks. Its pretty addictive, if you like tense well made stuff, lots of drama and soft core porn lol. Also been liking the Penguin show.

2018-19 Offseason Questionnaire

1. Draft thoughts? Sleepers, busts, your draft, other drafts, whatever.

The way the draft shook out was quite different from the IRL '19 NBA draft. Excited to have grabbed Coby being a bulls fan, although ratings and notes look meh.

Not the most exciting draft so it will be interesting to see where hidden gems are. I liked Joe grabbing Devidas Syrvidas so late. Not often you see an A potential guy on the board that deep in the draft.

2. How do you feel about your offseason, and what are your goals for this coming season?

Pretty blah camp over here. Markelle did go +3 which is awesome. I'd love to get my hands on a decent SF if anyone has ideas. Maybe D Rose is due for a new home, too. Not quite sure really. Probably will end up in the 8th seed and getting swept the first round. That's my swag

3. Thoughts on TC?

Kinda ass over here. A 25 year old Jerami Grant went -4 lol. Malik Monk sucks cock. Ratings have gone net 0 since the 2017 draft. Worthless.

Sweet Markelle on the other hand is looking kinda hot. D Rose down to D+ handles. Wonder what would happen if I played him at PG as a #1 option. Might have to try that out for a sim.

4. Who wins each division and why?

Atlantic: 76ers. Lebron ewing theory. Jevon Carter (bulls legend) should be poised to shock the league this season.
Central: Tough one here. Maybe the Hawks. Is there a Martin brother stip?
Midwest: Spurs. Just taking a look at other rosters in this division, they look a lot better than everyone else.
Pacific: Lakers. Kyrie is a problem. My god is paul george disappointing, but I think he'll play a good role on this team.

5. There are very few tankers (yay!) - should any team be looking to blow it up? Why?

Yes, me. Being an 8th seed is not the move. Should try to get any value I can out of the likes of D Rose and Eddie Griffin before it's too late. Probably won't tho!!

6. Excluding your team, what is the player or team storyline you're going to be watching most closely this year?

Curious to see if there's a covid storyline this season. Is there gonna be an SLN bubble?? I'll say it now: I'll be damned if the Clintons try to force any lib juice 5G LTE vaccine into any Los Angeles Clippers. Not on my watch

7. With the current champs blowing it up, predict the finals matchup in 19-20, the winner and number of games.

Spurs Magic. Magic in 7.

8. What non-rookie player is going to show the most drastic improvement after camps this season? Who will show the most decline?

Booker. Looks nasty! I didn't really look through all the TCs but looks like Eddy Curry's minutes, fg%, and blocks took a decent dip last season and wouldn't be surprised if he keeps trending that way.

9. Thoughts on your real life sports team(s).

Bears are fun. Bulls preseason has been fun. Lavine revenge season incoming. Lonzo hooping tomorrow night. Lofton Jr is literally zbo 2.0. Matas is what people think Cooper Flagg will be. I love this time of year for sports.

10. Movies, TV, books, games, whatever recommendations.

Just finished Demar Derozan's autobiography which I'd recommend. Just finished the Menendez show. Free the dawgs.

Been watching too much football, LADY HOOPS (lfg Lynx), baseball, nba preseason. Don't really have a lot of time for regular shows at the moment

1. Draft thoughts? Sleepers, busts, your draft, other drafts, whatever.
Pretty rough draft top to bottom, interested to see what kind of player Zion turns out to be. A couple of fun fliers in the second round, I particularly liked the late snag of PJ Washington

2. How do you feel about your offseason, and what are your goals for this coming season?
Ecstatic that there was an opportunity to upgrade at the 3 and bring in Jimmy Butler, also improved the bench by grabbing Ersan. Overall look of the roster improved with the young guns still ascending, Im hoping this is a championship contended but id be happy making it out of the first round.

3. Thoughts on TC?
Jaylen looks like a budding superstar with A- offense and defense. Love's usage dipped last season so I was not shocked when he dipped to C+ inside. Tyus bumped up to A+ handles but thats not always a good thing.

My biggest concern was Jimmy dropping to B+ defense I need him to be the two way star he's been throughout his career.

4. Who wins each division and why?

Atlantic: Magic - Roster is so solid top to bottom
Central: Hawks - Proved last year they are a championship contender but ran into the Kyrie buzzsaw and still took them to 7
Midwest: Spurs- bet on yourself
Pacific: Warriors - Jrue's a top 2 PG in the league and Tatum has a JB esque leap

5. There are very few tankers (yay!) - should any team be looking to blow it up? Why?
I think the Heat and Jazz may be on the cusp of at least a retool

6. Excluding your team, what is the player or team storyline you're going to be watching most closely this year?
I want to see how Bonga continues to develop, can you imagine if he becomes a PG eligible Clack?

7. With the current champs blowing it up, predict the finals matchup in 19-20, the winner and number of games.
Hawks Spurs, Hawks in 5

8. What non-rookie player is going to show the most drastic improvement after camps this season? Who will show the most decline?
Jayson Tatum breakout incoming

9. Thoughts on your real life sports team(s).
Had the pleasure of witnessing in person the Ulcer also known as Daniel Jones at home in primetime

10. Movies, TV, books, games, whatever recommendations.
Crushed the LOTR trilogy while I fasted for Yom Kippur

Bonus: add a pic/gif of how you feel about your season

2018-19 Offseason Questionnaire

1. Draft thoughts? Sleepers, busts, your draft, other drafts, whatever.
Super excited about THT! Think Cam Johnson and Naz Reid will be nice as well. A nonzero chance Tyler Herro ends up being the best player from this draft.

2. How do you feel about your offseason, and what are your goals for this coming season?
Feeling good! A lot of random pieces across the board but having more fun than ever. Just want to mess around this season and play players in different positions.

3. Thoughts on TC?
Was happy with Sabonis going up to A- outside and B+ rebounding. Not great going down to C+ defense. Drummond still flat but based on pre1 some nice under the hood changes. Very excited about Miles Bridges. Was hoping THT would go up to A pot and Okafor would go up a bit as well but alas.

4. Who wins each division and why?

Atlantic: Magic; Book
Central: Hawks, KD
Midwest: Grizzlies; think BI will take the leap
Pacific: Hot take, give me the Clippers

5. There are very few tankers (yay!) - should any team be looking to blow it up? Why?
I think the Nets; tough division and AD/Blake/Kemba have a ton of value

6. Excluding your team, what is the player or team storyline you're going to be watching most closely this year?
The Lakers, they're going to be super fun

7. With the current champs blowing it up, predict the finals matchup in 19-20, the winner and number of games.
Hawks 4-3 Grizzlies

8. What non-rookie player is going to show the most drastic improvement after camps this season? Who will show the most decline?
Jamal Murray and Lebron :geek:

9. Thoughts on your real life sports team(s).
Need Tottenham to turn it around after this international break. Warriors, no idea what to expect this season tbh

10. Movies, TV, books, games, whatever recommendations.
Can't wait for the new JAck Reacher book in a couple weeks
