Not that this really needs an explanation lol - I would have loved to be able to get some value for Barnes, but it was a roster spot crunch for this to process before TC, and when I realized what the situation was, I offered him to RB (who previously wanted him) in this deal, but he had clearly gone to sleep.

It was late and I thought Ashes was running TC overnight, and the only two players in my team who I can cut are Barnes or Crowder, everyone else is in my future plans. So I had to make an annoying choice. Crowder led SFs in TS% or something last season and I thought he’d have more trade value and a smaller dead cap hit.

Since that didn’t happen I offered Barnes back to RB this morning in this deal, I am waiting to see if he’s gonna take him or not, if he doesn’t then whatever. Believe me I would much rather have roster space for someone who I could trade on his own for like 200 RP, and not have $5m in dead cap!

might be misunderstanding the message of some of the comments but i've seen it happen a few times recently and thought i'd reiterate what a lot of the league has already voiced: explicitly saying someone got fleeced or insinuating it is super annoying. it just makes people too guarded and discourages fun trades which we all enjoy

also interesting that you rarely see these insinuations on some of the recent trades where you could argue that an O6 guy got smoked
