The Nets Are Taking .500 Too Literally - Trade Block

27-27 overall. 10-17 on the road. 17-10 at home. Overall point differential within one. The fans and ownership are confident about maintaining this pace - but they’re also hellishly bored. This is what progress looks like?!?
Now 3.5 games out in the lonesome crowded East, we’d be loath to waste Aaron Gordon’s fantastic 2025 campaign. So we’re looking for running mates. Any Lively & Flagg conversations will not happen right now, and Gordon is the heart and soul of this year’s team, but we are otherwise open to aggressively seeking the “right piece.” We are absolutely willing to part with draft picks if the perfect fit arises. Zion could be moved too but we’d prefer pick-related moves.
Marginal upgrades will leave us in the same predicament - not even counting the likelihood of rookie GM gaffes. What will get the Swamp rocking? We’re thinking do-it-all wing types with rebounding skills. Or a power forward that blows the roof off the gym. And if you listened to the Pod … you know we will be intrigued by any opportunity to snag that franchise cornerstone point guard. But TL;DR probably a small forward that makes the spread against, say, the very good 76ers look about even. Team control beyond 2025 is a huge green flag for anyone we’d look to acquire.
Won’t be sad if nothing crystallizes. Always worth a try. Say hi if you haven’t already. GO NETS!
