Cavaliers Fans Rejoice - a new day is coming - exclusive from the Plain Dealer

Live from the Plain Dealer (yes its a real thing, I googled it) - local Cleveland reporter Mervis Chaddenstein sits down with widely unpopular GM Michael "Cavs Czar" Antypas for an all exclusive presser after holding onto a top 3 pick in a stacked draft class.
Mervis Chaddenstein (MC for short) - So Mantypas, after finally getting your pick back after some unsuccessful tries of putting your team to the top of a very tough eastern conference, how does it feel to be granted lottery luck by the draft gods and get a high pick
Michael "Cavs Czar" Antypas (MA for short) - Well, first off, thanks for the daily reminder of my lack of success from your news operation. I can assure you I eat, sleep and breathe turning this organization back around. Otherwise, we are thrilled to bring in some young talent to a currently barren roster.
MC - This is the first second overall pick you've in your 30 years as a GM. You selected Paul Pierce with that pick. Are you going to trade another franchise star to Seattle for a poopoo platter of picks?
MA - Ok, very rude. We have learned from our mistakes and as much as we love the Seattle GM, we are building for the long haul here.
MC - So... whats your big board looking like?
MA - Can't disclose classified information. Why is the Plain Dealer always trying to bring my down bro?
MC - Not trying to bring you down, the fans are just very curious.
MA - We've actually had some solid draft success stories, don't forget about Eddy Curry and Eddie Griffin.
MC - You broke that duo up really early in their career didn't you?
MA - Again.... RUDE! We didn't anticipate Eddy Curry's drive to play defense to magically spawn after he got unlimited Tex Mex in Dallas. We thought the pierogis in Cleveland were already enough.
MC - Ok, so maybe don't give us you full big board, but at least let the fans know you aren't going to make a horrendous decision and name some guys that are interesting to you and your front office.
MA - I knew we should've given this exclusive to the Cleveland Press..... fine. In Cleveland, we value grit as always, like the Tony Allens of old (a great pick of mine by the way, suck it Chaddenstein). AJ Dybantsa does fit that mold of a two way stud, which is very appealing. However, we could use as much talent on the other side as possible, which might make Daryn Petersen super appealing given his lack of weaknesses and scoring fortitude. We also have our eyes on Nate Ament as a do it all forward and Cameron Boozer as a two way player, though not a traditional stocky fellow.
MC - So you are going to take one of these four guys then eh?
MA - Yeah we are probably going to take one of these four guys.
MC - Do you have any other major offseason plans?
MA - We will want to retain some key guys from last season, though we will not share names because the real Cavs fans at home already know these guys, and we want to be a player and poach high performers from other teams last year.
MC - Any major targets?
MA - Can only really talk about Luka since everyone is going after him. We want to keep our FA list close to our chest, can't let opposing GM's know our secrets.
MC - Man, you have really grown as a GM haven't you?
MA - Nah man, still free balling it for my love of the game and the city of Cleveland.
MC - Is there anything else you want to say to the fans out there that have lost hope.
MA - Believeland in Cleveland. We have a young roster, a potential star coming. Though it is going to take a few seasons, we will be making a big swing in 2027, and potentially in 2026 if we get some nice development out of our young players and a wildly successful FA. I will give my blood, sweat, and tears, and believe me, it'll be a lot of tears, to take this franchise back into the playoffs. Us Clevelanders are resilient, and our players resonate with you all. And of course, we appreciate your support throughout the years, especially this past season where we lost a lot of really bad games. A new day is coming.
MC - Well you have it folks, Mantypas is here for the long haul. Thanks for taking the time Manty - lets game soon.
MA - You betcha champ, take care
