Shaquille O'Neal (Scooooooooopssss)

Gentlemen and gentlemen, basketball aficionados, and SLN fans around the web, we are thrilled to declare the induction of a true basketball icon into the SLN Hall of Fame. Shaquille “Diesel” O’Neal; a remarkable two-way superstar, a stat powerhouse, and an undeniable first-ballot Hall of Famer. I asked Ashes for a quote but it turns out if you type “ashes” out numerically and send a text to said number, it doesn't do anything. So ill just summarize what he probably would've said:
“Lo the heavens have persisted in stillness, save for the faint whispers of my imperishable flame. Yet now, behold, my son hath arrived to partake with us in the everlasting Rave”
We at the historian's office are introducing an additional voting process in the Hall of Fame induction. Once a player is inducted, the public will decide which SLN team he will be associated with from his illustrious career.
Shaq Diesel spent his entire career basking in the Miami sun. Therefore, there's no need for a vote... Kudos to SCOOPS! He's entitled to one Hall of Fame shop credit at our office. As a lifelong Miami Heat player and one of the rare original draftees to stay with one team throughout, Shaq's legendary tenure with the Heat was highlighted by his championship win in 1999. Known for overturning higher-seeded teams, 1999 was a pinnacle year as Shaq led the #7 seeded Heat to their first championship. The lowest seed to do it to date.
Shaq had 754 double doubles in his career! Literally 80% of his games he racked up the double double, and I suspect a large majority of those misses were in the last couple years of his career when his shooting dropped off a bit. A full steal nightly as a big man is something we haven't seen since Hakeem. In fact Shaq (80) is the only HOFer who has come in even in the stratosphere of Hakeems score (110). Fun fact, for the first seven seasons, Shaq’s FG% was better than his FT%! Legend
Shaq, we honor you for your dominant play and relentless spirit. It's unlikely any seventh seed will replicate your victory! You truly merit this accolade, you are an exceptional program built by our simgod! You were always a “1”, never just a”0”.
