I thought the below was a fun way of looking at some advanced offense, rebounding, and turnover stats against where teams landed on win totals and conference ranks. Unsurprisingly, there’s a high correlation between these stats and the wins / ranks achieved this season.

But a couple interesting ones that stick out to me:

The Cavs: finished with 59 wins and 3rd in the East. Really high free throw rate, rebounding %, and low TOs, but not efficient offense. Missing here are the defensive stats that made up for that offensive inefficiency.

The Clippers: finished with 49 wins and 5th in the West. Efficient across the board in these metrics, particularly relative to other teams in the West. I would otherwise expect them to have done a little better.

Rooooollin, great stuff today @R B

I would imagine there's a multiplier effect in balanced (ie. Cavs) where they not only have elite defense, but also run top opposing players off the floor (foul trouble and more)

Ya great point. That’s gotta be a factor
