MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Dwyane Wade. All league 1st team SG. On top of the boards and stocks, he shoots the most 3s per game in the league (at 43%). I could list off his accomplishments but you guys know who he is.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Tyson shitbird chicken guy. almost 4 stocks a game and 12 boards. Huge part of best oFG% in the league.

MOST IMPROVED: Pau! His efficiency had been declining for a few years down to 44% last year, now he's back up 5% in efficiency and up 5 PPG. Beware all FA buyers - he is getting old!!!

SIXTH MAN: Nocioni. Super reliable 1-3 sub with 48% shooting, 13 PPG and doesn't throw the ball away

BIGGEST SURPRISE: I was worried Tyson's decline in defense to B would impact his blocks and our team defense. Nope!

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Not really, Pau not resigning

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: I embarrassingly didn't make a trade this year. My team was on a roll and I considered removing resigning risk, but I wanted to go for it this year. I guess getting collison and mo pete on min contracts was nice.

REGRETS: None

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: LeBron - Slid him back into the 3 with a post-elite but still solid PG in Baron. Really made a difference with Bron running the offense from the 3.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Jermaine. 2.8:1.3 stocks:TOs. Anchor of our D at the 4 with Hawes and Boozer backing up. 6.7 stocks/game out of these 3.

MOST IMPROVED: Pops. If it weren't for me trying to get Spencer as many minutes as possible, Pops would have had a much larger role. Excited he is re-signing for cheap and looking forward to more gains.

SIXTH MAN: Iggy - Dude's percentages were much better backing up the 1-3. There are few other wings I'd rather have come off the bench to lockdown opponents' 2/3.

BIGGEST SURPRISE: Baron stepped up and locked down his role as our starting PG. Was nice that he held strong and I didn't need to fux with my DC much.

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Hawes I guess. Didn't do anything to wow us this season post SC, will hope to see bigger gains next season.

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: Boozer. So glad I could finally snag an A1 PF and he is proving to be a critical piece in our playoff run.

REGRETS: Not trying to make another move before the deadline.

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER:
I think it’s a 3 way tie? Bogut, Brand, and Dwill were all pretty phenomenal. Truly a team performance in Orlando. I guess I give the edge to DWill since he singlehandedly won quite a few games.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR:
This is a tie. Bogut was named to SLN All Defense 2nd team but Sir Elton and Bogues combined for 6.6 blocks and 1.9 steals per game to go with a smothering 2FG% defense that I believe ranked 2nd in the league.

MOST IMPROVED:
CJ Miles. He jumped forward to becoming an SLN All Star with career highs in points and lows in turnovers while relatively maintaining efficiency.

SIXTH MAN:
Mr. 6th Man himself, Kris Clack. The media agreed.

BIGGEST SURPRISE:
Being this good with such a road heavy start. After a poor first 2 sims I decided I’d #SpiteStart Deron the rest of the season then things just…got good?

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT:
Eric Gordon. I’d hoped he’d be the bench scorer I needed after his camp but it just didn’t really happen and led to the ISO Joe trade

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR:
Deron. Williams. Point Guard. University of Illinois. For the cost of Luc Mbah a Moute and a top 4 protected 2014 Jazz pick (feel free to give me Embiid, Ralph) I got a legit offensive superstar. The turnovers are a thing but I feel like were manageable. He provided 27.3/5.6/9.2 on career high .484/.459/.864 and was my first offensive PG ever.

REGRETS:
Honestly, I don’t think any. I didn’t do a whole lot and the moves I made felt straightforward. Sucks Yi got hurt for the playoffs

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Paul Millsap.

What a year for this guy. I regret not giving him a longer opportunity to play small forward a couple seasons ago, but whatever happened here it seems to be pretty legitimate in terms of his efficiency. Not sure how well his volume will scale with better teammates, but he looks like a real piece and was far and away our best player.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Emeka Okafor.

Emeka had another really solid year. I had talks with people but was surprised there weren't stronger overtures made for this guy, who I think can be a difference-maker on a team that has more talent around him. Also played really well at PF, which was a good development.

MOST IMPROVED: Millsap.

If this award existed for the league on whole, Millsap would have a great case just off the insane efficiency uptick.

SIXTH MAN: Joe Ingles/Gerald Henderson

I was kind of rotating my bench all season and Ingles and Gerald both were pretty solid after coming up from the NDL. They will be in the mix for minutes next year.

BIGGEST SURPRISE: tie between Ricky Rubio looking awesome and Millsap magically becoming good

Wasn't sure what Ricky would look like but was super encouraged by the season he had before having any camps or TCs — seems to be a really high floor and baseline for him to grow into a stud PG. When grabbing Millsap on the MLE as a reclamation project, I was obviously not expecting this.

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Gordon Hayward point shaving

Was hoping to get more out of Hayward but he has two camps left and presumably has some TC juice left in there since it's only been a couple seasons. Would like to see him earn minutes and evolve into a good piece for us next season

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: Rubio

The Lou Will trade was a tough decision to process in the moment but fortunately it seems to have panned out just from a pure directional standpoint. Hoping Ricky makes the leap after this supercamp and what could be a high-value TC.

REGRETS: There were a couple opportunities I had early in the season to sell guys quicker and maybe I should have thought harder about it to improve my lotto odds. But I'm hoping this can be a quick turnaround if my young guys start to pan out, and I didn't see a ton of value in stripping it down just to strip it down. Prayers up for the lotto.

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER:

Jameer Nelson! The actual MVP!! I still can't believe it. 26/6/12.4 on 48/94/47 splits. That's a tenth of an assist per game shy of J Kidd's record. With A defense. Just tremendous.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Dwight Howard. 14.9 RPG (05 shy of a league record). 4.2 BPG (new league record). Hands down best butt in the league.

MOST IMPROVED: Al Horford. He had a pretty so so line last year after his SC, but after resigning for a song and moving into the starting role, he put up 15 points, 11.5 rebounds, 2.2 blocks per 36 on splits that keep rising every year. I am so excited to see where he is in a season or two.

SIXTH MAN: Mo Williams. My offense only 1-2 supersub extraordinaire. 17.8 points per 36 on 49/92/43 shooting. I love him.

BIGGEST SURPRISE: David Lee. Better than I thought! Similar to Carlos Boozer, I think he does appreciably better as a bench guy. His scoring was actually efficient, he drew a bunch of fouls, shoots very well from the line, just isn't particularly stocky. I don't think there's any way we can retain him financially, so, if you're looking for a backup 4-5, this guy is pretty good.

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Peja. He was fine I guess but had no volume at all. Wouldn't be surprised if he retired at all.

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: Tie: Redd acquisition and the Dunleavy swap. I was pretty thrilled to get a starting quality SG for hopefully the next several years for my first this year (please don't retire). Dunleavy was obviously a smaller impact move, but he basically hasn't missed since rejoining the Blazers. I hope to retain him.

REGRETS: We had a great season! Probably our best yet, without sending out future stuff. Won an MVP with a completely homegrown talent in Jameer. So no, no regrets.

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Kawhi, he's gonna be an absolute monster, averaged 19pts a game and was close to 2stls for a majority of the season. Hoping he can improve on the offensive efficiency but I think thats coming. There were a couple games where he also shut down LeBron. He was absolutely robbed of the Rookie of the year, had the most rookie of the months.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Pat Bev! First team all-defense, super stocky, hoping he can get the TOs down and replicate Jeff McInnis lite.

MOST IMPROVED: Probably has to go to Pat Bev, think he can be a really interesting piece as a starting PG

SIXTH MAN: I guess Mirza Teletovic by default

BIGGEST SURPRISE: Pat Bev's overall game, a bit more efficient than I was expecting. I think his TOs dip in a fast paced offense.

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Not losing more games

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: Outside of the Melo deal, has to be grabbing the Clips first for Malik Allen.

REGRETS: Maybe not trying to get a little more value out of Clack but he was winning us too many games.

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Lou Will - solid first season from Lou in Detroit; derailed a bit by "Biggest Surprise" below...

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Oden - big time improvements on the boards (up to 14.2 avg this season) and blocks (2.8). would love to see him continue to keep making progress next season

MOST IMPROVED: Oden - same as above

SIXTH MAN: Arroyo - did a great job providing some more offense off the bench shooting 48% (46% from 3)

BIGGEST SURPRISE: Kyrie's stip - really didn't see that one coming and will have to just deal with him delicately, but seems like he's going to be great

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: our season overall. having to start Kyrie really set us back unexpectedly, so I need to adjust the timeline around him a bit

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: Lou Will - he's been great and on a long-term deal with us now so should be in a good spot

REGRETS: none really - didnt have as good of a season as I would have hoped but that was partially outside of my control with the Kyrie curveball. overall it was just fun to get some trades done and try to win some games

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Tony Parker

The league’s MVP if the award wasn’t decided by homeless Portlandians. He really went up a level this year, delivering his best or second best year ever in every statistical category (besides assists). Best non-LeBron player in the league for my money.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Caron Butler

Usually this just goes to a big, and slammy and Eddie are great candidates, but Caron was awesome against opposing 3s all season and our team made a considerable leap in defense when he came aboard. He also was awesome against LeBron in the first 3 games of the conference finals.

MOST IMPROVED: Tony Parker

Up from 31 to 35 ppg, which is not a jump I’ve ever seen from a guy in his 10th season with the same supporting cast. The jump in efficiency was huge for us all year - was waiting for it to regress and it never did.

SIXTH MAN:

Brendan Haywood. Awesome stock:TO and rebounding off the bench. Wish I could have put J Rich in this spot, but as a deadline guy he was supposed to be a hired gun for the playoffs and despite me running him as an option for most of the playoffs (until finals game 7) his numbers were super mediocre if not bad.

BIGGEST SURPRISE: not getting bounced!

Once Dmo switched LeBron to PG I thought we were donezo, and that grizz team was the best team in the league all season. Very lucky that this team was able to put together 4 series in a row.

Honorable mention TP resigning for peanuts!

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: nothing

Good season for us!

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR:

I guess J rich by default? Also very excited for Jimmer to continue to improve

REGRETS: none! Monkey off the back!

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Chris Bosh. 27/14 on 48/83/41 splits. 4 Stocks and 1.5 TO. Best two-way big man in the league. It was a legitimate delight to open Bosh boxes every sim.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Bosh. The league’s biggest butt for several seasons running. Amazing rebounder and defender. Absolutely shut down plenty of the league's best bigs all season.

MOST IMPROVED: Johan Petro. Jumped nearly two full boards and half a block per 36. He's been a super helpful find off the FA scrap heap and was a great fifth starter for us last season.

SIXTH MAN: JR Smith. One of my favorite IRL Knicks of all time. He was a bucket and had a couple of huge playoff games for us to boot.

BIGGEST SURPRISE: Bosh continuing to ascend. He's had A or B potential every season of his career so I'm guessing his potential jumped back up to 100 while he was a teenager. Shooting camps haven't hurt. Cool to see him working on his game every offseason. Setting a good example for the young fellas!

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Losing to the Sixers in 5. Figured we'd put up a better fight but Bron was simply too much.

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: Trading two futures + Mihm + J-Rich for Jamal Crawford. J-Crossover is legitimately SLN's answer to IRL Steph Curry. 30+ PPG on 49% FG% and elite TS% every season is just super fun and valuable in terms of winning.

REGRETS: Not being more active. Work has been crazy busy for the past few weeks but hoping I'll be able to spend more time on SLN this season!
