To elaborate, there's some merit to this take for sure, these two guys are awfully similar and I went back and forth. Dwight's total stats are certainly enough to put him in the conversation (11th in rebounds and 7th in blocks) but I ultimately chose Oden because we've seen Dwight tail off considerably from an efficiency perspective in the latter half of his career, while Oden seems to be heading in a positive direction offensively at age 30 and we still have more years of prime to see from him. I also think Oden's defensive peak is just a hair higher, with multiple seasons cracking 15 rpg despite playing alongside other strong rebounders, something Dwight never did.

Dwight played with a ton of strong rebounders! We were always at the top of the league in rebounding with him (Horford / Powe / and strong wing rebounders as well). Then there's LeBron. Oden has a bit of a rebounding edge, but Dwight has historically been a better shot blocker (and leads all defensive team births 7-4).

Offensively they're basically even in efficiency but Dwight has marginally more volume (neither are efficient enough that you'd be thrilled about the volume, so idk if that's a positive).

All fair points, could definitely have Howard in there over Oden. I think if Oden's career ends with roughly these average stats and no rings, Dwight could have an edge in this top 50...but a tiny voice inside me says there's something to the fact that none of Dwight, Oden or Duncan (all 3 pretty much the same guy) have a title to their name.

First 4 players on this list (in the ringless whores category) were all Bulls for a long time, I guess that's what you get when it takes you 15 seasons to win a title
