GMOTY - 2016-17
GMOTY - 2016-17
GMs have until Wed, July 31 at 4P to vote. If you like, you may refer to the results of the leaguewide survey that I someone put out on GMOTY criteria.
-Anyone who votes gets 100 RPs.
-GMs get an additional 200 RPs for posting in this thread and advocating on behalf of a GM. Do not advocate on behalf of yourself!
-Do not vote for yourself.
Things to Consider:
-GM proactivity and creativity
-Success in drafting, trades, FA signings, general team building
-Production in the form of wins, losses and team stats
-Delta in team performance from year to year (or in this case, from draft to end of regular season).
Winner Gets:
-1,000 RPs
-Ability to add or subtract a year to any player's contract on your team. Must be done within one season.
Tiebreaker:
-If any two GMs are tied in 1st place in voting, we will do a ranked-choice procedure for them + anyone within 2 votes of the leader to determine the winner.

Gonna be that guy this time — borderline malpractice if Woo doesn’t win. Bizarre ass 63-win team that shouldered the nightmare Livingston injury. Boogie trade was an A+, and love the energy of going all in on TP to give this year’s team its best chance.
Love what Mantypas did with the Cavs, #BaeCrowder
Perennials like Jesse, Ralph, Jordo in here too. But it’s Woo til it’s backward this year IMO

Its Mr. Woo for me, combination of great roster construction and drafting, didnt miss a beat with Livingston going down since brogdon was such a great fit and I loved the late season Parker move, what better PG to make a playoff run with.
Shouts also go out to Ralph who made a great move getting Jameer, one of the best teams in SLN history. Props to Jesse for an all around fun season running with the big boys.
Additional shoutout to Tonger for grabbing Jrue, Pacers are set up very comfortably for the next few seasons.

Boredo
2-man race between Ralph and Woo imo.
Tough call.
Jwoo is the run away winner for Coach of the Year -- eeking out 63 wins with a hurt Point Guard and finding deals for Jordan, Parker, Cousins, et al.
Ralph has by far the best team in the league and it's not close. Two moves he made this year - signing Deng, trading peanuts for Nelson - direclty pushed the team from the midpack to the top.
Idk!
Addiitonal shouts to Jordo for retooling and getting better. Tonger for being a beast. Nav for kicking ass.

Voted for Ralph - Jameer and Deng were two amazing moves and I’d agree with Jesse his team is far and away the best, big props from me. Monster year for Utah

I think this is a very tight WGMOY and a hard one for me to vote
Sonics have been completely awal on the content front and are middling in mediocrity. Not bad enough to be bad, not good enough to be good. No interesting prospects but they have gotten future capital and did a podcast.
Warriors had a wild wild offseason of activity and have been posting on the boards a bit this season, an uptick in activity probably takes them out of contention.
My vote goes to either the Bucks or the Hornets. The bucks sold KD went straight into the tank and haven’t done an article or podcast this season and almost no posts. Hornets sold everyone and haven’t done an article or a pod either. Low posting’s and activity have these two GMs atop the polls.
My Flacco punishment vote this year is to videotape a beer mile of themselves at their local track. They must also eat a Donut cheeseburger before hand. Punishment for not doing it would be -1500 RP and loss of their next FRP. Completion of the task results in 1000 RP, 2x their next article and pod (done within the next season) a compensatory FRP pick (number 30 overal) in next years draft.

Lmao what? I made like 10 trades this season including getting my own pick back (5th overall) and creating 1,500 RPs
How on earth am I not the favorite for this awardSoNicks wrote: ↑July 29th, 2024, 2:15 pm I think this is a very tight WGMOY and a hard one for me to vote

Tough race between Jwoo and Ralph, ultimately gave it to Jwoo with the amount of trades he made, and the amount he made out of it with such an odd roster. Ralph deserves a huge shoutout, fantastic roster, big upgrade at PG with Jameer, Deng was amazing, and a subtle move to grab Jerekbo has the bench looking spry
FOR THE LAND (sometimes its ok to be a little sad)
