Think Quady means the denominator has to include FTA like the traditional points per possession calc does

i.e., Points per Possession = Points / (Field Goal Attempts + (0.44 x Free Throw Attempts) + Turnovers)

Although wouldn't not having FTA in the denominator actually improve the score for bigs, assuming they get to the line more often?

yep

Yeah was saying if you add to the denominator with FTs, the bigs (and an interesting subset of guards) look a lot less impressive
