GMs have until Sat, Dec 28 to vote. If you like, you may refer to the results of the league-wide survey that someone put out on GMOTY criteria.

-Anyone who votes gets 100 RPs.
-GMs get an additional 200 RPs for posting in this thread and advocating on behalf of a GM. Do not advocate on behalf of yourself!
-Do not vote for yourself.

Things to Consider:

-GM proactivity and creativity
-Success in drafting, trades, FA signings, general team building
-Production in the form of wins, losses and team stats
-Delta in team performance from year to year (or in this case, from draft to end of regular season).

Winner Gets:

-1,000 RPs
-Ability to add or subtract a year to any player's contract on your team. Must be done within one season.

Tiebreaker:

-If any two GMs are tied in 1st place in voting, we will do a ranked-choice procedure for them + anyone within 2 votes of the leader to determine the winner.

there are a bunch of guys who deserve a shoutout like JBurns, Nav, Merv, Nick, GX, Jesse and Ralph - but Tonger quietly built a deep, swissarmyknife-like team with one of the best young cores we have seen (alongside JBurns Hornets) and high quality vets he got on discount, one is still a top player who won a championship last year in Utah. A Marvin, who’s still starvin. His team swept the best team in the regular season this year in round 2 and are giving me fits in the eastern conference title game. Vote to Tonger
Welcome to Atlanta where the playas play
And we ride on dem thangs like ev-ery day
Big beats, hit streets, see gangstahs roamin'
And parties don't stop 'til eight in the Monin

I also voted Tonger. I know it’s gmoty but in a year where there’s no obvious favorite I’d go Tonger. Pacers totally outperformed my expectations and when you dissect the roster is the culmination of great consistent GMing. He won a title with a core, seamlessly pivoted to another title contender with a different identity. He’s maximized his players in creative DCs and Sabonis being 6MOTY is evidence of that.

Shoutout to Jesse for another banner year and Ralph for seemingly always being a top 5 team. Jazz aren’t going anywhere and the Kings are young and scary

Tough vote for me but also went with Tonger. There were a handful of teams that made franchise-altering positive moves this year that should be commended - Hawks bringing in Bron, Magic bringing in AG, Suns bringing in Blake, Knicks bringing in Jones etc., but they all paid up to do that stuff while Indianas move brought in two critical pieces for free. That trade vaulted the Pacers from firmly in the middle tier of East teams up into the top in a year with more competition in the conference than ever, and he did some nice DC stuff to get the most of his boys. Yes yes, Jesse got Cojo for free also (could be enough for GMOTY alone IMO) but he paid too much for Kemba so it evens out
Celtics ah the balls

Very close vote between Jesse / Tonger / nav for me (with several other deserving candidates), but went with Nav. Think the Tyus deal single-handedly cemented the Knicks as the favorite in the East for the next 4-5 seasons even if Nav decided to go on complete autopilot, and he paid next to nothing for him. The pacers campaign shouldn’t be ignored either - props to Tonger for an awesome season and putting together an awesome team, but as I said at the time, I think he let Ralph off the hook with the Marvin deal and think there was some missed value there (obviously still a great deal). And Jesse was opportunistic as ever, especially with cojo.

I’m rolling Xtractor. Made a ton of moves, massaged Kyrie into the vaccine, and finished first in the supposed toughest conference while only getting 12 games from Kyrie? Picked up Vooch to be a scorer in Kyrie’s absence and then moved him for value. Did all of this without further leveraging himself. Big fan

I'm voting for Merv. Thought the AG trade was huge for his team and he didn't really give up a ton of high value stuff. Lines up well with Book/Kawhi/Steph. Tong's preseason trade with Ralph vaulted himself into the top of the East. Nav got the best PG he's had in while for also not very much high value stuff. Jesse Jesse'd around and created another unsuspecting juggernaut.
