2020-21 Offseason Questionnaire

1. Draft thoughts? Sleepers, busts, your draft, other drafts, whatever.
Didn't know anything about the draft without Paul Giamatti and Rapidraft. Thrilled to land C B C- B C Sam Hauser in the 50s!! Curious about Dalano Banton as a 6'9 PG. Hoping he shows some promise in the NDL.

2. How do you feel about your offseason, and what are your goals for this coming season?
Hope to be good, we were pretty nice with Aaron Gordon

3. Thoughts on TC?
Would love to see +20 Pot guys Kawhi and Aaron Gordon continue to pop and Devin Booker keep stepping forward in his prime.

4. Who wins each division and why?

Atlantic: Magic - Gordon, Kawhi, Booker, Curry
Central: Pacers - this division is wide open after this offseason, truly no idea
Midwest: Jazz - something about Death and Taxes
Pacific: Lakers - Kyrieeeeeee

5. Create the best possible 3 on 3 team in the league using only salaries under $5M - a guard, a wing and a big.
Luka / Taurean Prince / Bismack

6. Who will be the first GM to have to use the Amnesty Clause and who will they use it on?
DMo on Rudy Gobert

7. The tradewinds are a-blowin! Who WILL and SHOULD be the next superstar to go on the block?
A real superstar? I'm between Zach LaVine and Greg Oden. I don't like commenting on who should, just think they're the next real deal superstars that could get moved.

8. By the end of 2022 (two seasons from now), list who you think the top 5 BEST (not most valuable) players in the league will be.
Aaron Gordon
Luka Doncic
Donovan Mitchell
Nikola Jokic
Kyrie Irving

9. Thoughts on your real life sports team(s).

1. Draft thoughts? Sleepers, busts, your draft, other drafts, whatever.

Really loved the level of mystery with this draft. I was granted Rapidraft after acquiring that Top 10 pick from Houston which made it even more interesting. Ashes did not get enough credit for creating layers of incomplete information (even the Rapidraft stuff wasn't totally accurate) that made the draft class harder to scrutinize, and I thought a really fun and creative challenge. Going through and seeing all the real ratings was sick.

Was really happy with my draft class, I probably overpaid a little to get Alvarado but the league is more fun when you get your guys. Hope Scottie Barnes will be an anchor for us long-term and think Isaiah Jackson could be a stock lord (look at his per-36 stats IRL).

2. How do you feel about your offseason, and what are your goals for this coming season?

Obviously I really like making trades, and I've enjoyed the last few weeks of constant transactions after deciding to go into the tank. Chris Paul retiring so I didn't have to use my amnesty was a friendly bounce, and being able to turn that cap space into Boogie and then flip him for two firsts was a nice outcome. We are going to be pretty bad this season, but I'm excited to rotate in a lot of young guys and try to get everyone some minutes (and hopefully wind up with a favorable pick).

3. Thoughts on TC?

Huge TC incoming for us just because the entire roster is made up of prospects. Very important to see some growth, prayers up.

4. Who wins each division and why?

Atlantic: Magic, they have the best team
Central: Hawks, I think this will be very tight with a lot of teams clustered in the 53-57ish win range including the Pacers and Hornets
Midwest: Jazz, feel like the core of the team is reliable and Ralph will figure it out, this division is mid
Pacific: Lakers, full season of Kyrie after a really nice year without him

5. Create the best possible 3 on 3 team in the league using only salaries under $5M - a guard, a wing and a big.

Nic Claxton, Cam Johnson, Luke Kennard — whaddya know, they're all available in trades

6. Who will be the first GM to have to use the Amnesty Clause and who will they use it on?

DMo been did that, if we rule him out, it will probably be me because I will take people's unwanted money for a price

7. The tradewinds are a-blowin! Who WILL and SHOULD be the next superstar to go on the block?

Porzingis

8. By the end of 2022 (two seasons from now), list who you think the top 5 BEST (not most valuable) players in the league will be.

Two seasons from now is the end of 2023, lol

Jamal
Jokic
KD
Kyrie
Luka

9. Thoughts on your real life sports team(s).

They all suck.

10. Movies, TV, books, games, whatever recommendations.

If you're not playing Rivals with the squad you're missing out

1. Draft thoughts? Sleepers, busts, your draft, other drafts, whatever.
Think Scottie Barnes will be good if his jumpshot develops. Really interested to see how Sengun plays out. Think Herb Jones will be pretty cool as well.

2. How do you feel about your offseason, and what are your goals for this coming season?
I hate you Chris Boucher.

3. Thoughts on TC?
Really excited to supercamp THT. Looking for Fox, Herro, Bridges, Sabonis to take the next step, would be awesome if Drummond goes up as well with the 20 pot. Marvin and Ersan please hold the line too!

4. Who wins each division and why?

Atlantic: Knicks, like the Kornet pickup and starting 5 is legit
Central: P A C E R S
Midwest: Grizzlies!
Pacific: Kings

5. Create the best possible 3 on 3 team in the league using only salaries under $5M - a guard, a wing and a big.
Shaun Livingston
Tyler Herro
Biyombo

6. Who will be the first GM to have to use the Amnesty Clause and who will they use it on?
No idea

7. The tradewinds are a-blowin! Who WILL and SHOULD be the next superstar to go on the block?
Oden, maybe Porzingis (?!)

8. By the end of 2022 (two seasons from now), list who you think the top 5 BEST (not most valuable) players in the league will be.
Luka
Fox
Jokic
Jamal Murray
KD

9. Thoughts on your real life sports team(s).
Don't think I've ever seen a more injured team than this year's Spurs

10. Movies, TV, books, games, whatever recommendations.
Rewatching the Bosch series, highly recommend! books are great too

2020-21 Offseason Questionnaire

1. Draft thoughts? Sleepers, busts, your draft, other drafts, whatever.

With no RapiDraft subscription and no pick, I paid extra little attention to the draft this year - Cade looks nice? no idea tbh

2. How do you feel about your offseason, and what are your goals for this coming season?

Productive offseason, although we levered ourselves out a year further. We were able to get two big upgrades at SF and C this offseason in Otto and Nerlens with limited assets at our disposal and were able to hang on to the best asset, Det 22. I've been desperately trying to get out of the +2 7 seed rut - if this doesn't work I may have to flip back into tank more.

3. Thoughts on TC?
Mostly looking for DRose to hold the line and for Luka to take another small step forward, particularly with his jump sot. Would be cool to see Otto improve too a couple seasons after getting the +20 potential.

4. Who wins each division and why?

Atlantic: Knicks - juggernaut
Central: Bulls - I think we're the only competing team in the division who got better this offseason. Gotta bet on myself!
Midwest: Grizzlies - Jazz salary situation looks like it's catching up to them this year
Pacific: Lakers - Kyrie

5. Create the best possible 3 on 3 team in the league using only salaries under $5M - a guard, a wing and a big.

Eric Bledsoe / Luka / Larry Sanders

6. Who will be the first GM to have to use the Amnesty Clause and who will they use it on?

I think Russ and CP3 just got amnestied

7. The tradewinds are a-blowin! Who WILL and SHOULD be the next superstar to go on the block?

Greg Oden

8. By the end of 2022 (two seasons from now), list who you think the top 5 BEST (not most valuable) players in the league will be.

Luka Doncic
Jamal Murray
Joel Embiid
Kevin Durant
Kyrie Irving

9. Thoughts on your real life sports team(s).

I heard the Bears requested to interview Scrony for their head coaching vacancy. I root for a bunch of clown shows. At lest we beat the packers which made Eberflose the only coach in Bears history to never beat the packers. Fck that guy.

10. Movies, TV, books, games, whatever recommendations.
Just watched the penguin, it was great. Also my brother got me a VR headset for christmas preloaded with a Batman game - i haven't even made it through the tutorial yet but it's awesome

1. Draft thoughts? Sleepers, busts, your draft, other drafts, whatever.
I like the top 3 picks a lot. I think Jalen Green will be THJ, just no defense. I loved Dalano Banton for the Magic, hes such a fun funky player IRL

2. How do you feel about your offseason, and what are your goals for this coming season?
Well we traded another pick lol, but I liked the value for a top 5 C and a matchup nightmare. We'd like to get into the 50 win mark and potentially a top 4 seed, but lofty goals in a tough Eastern Confernece.

3. Thoughts on TC?
Not happened yet, but another pop from DLos handles would be incredible. I'd love some more pops from Strus and Thon maybe getting to an A- reboudning, and dont die Boogie.

4. Who wins each division and why?

Atlantic: Orlando- full year of AG
Central: Cavs - I like us baby
Midwest: Grizzlies - why not
Pacific: Sacramento - lots of depth

5. Create the best possible 3 on 3 team in the league using only salaries under $5M - a guard, a wing and a big.
Luka, MPJ, Greg Monroe

6. Who will be the first GM to have to use the Amnesty Clause and who will they use it on?
Rudy Gobert and Russell Westbrook were amnestied no?

7. The tradewinds are a-blowin! Who WILL and SHOULD be the next superstar to go on the block?
Everyone is saying Greg Oden but I say Shai because he is in my division and i dont want him there lol. Plus no RFA is risky business

8. By the end of 2022 (two seasons from now), list who you think the top 5 BEST (not most valuable) players in the league will be.
Zach Lavine
KD
Jokic
Luka
Embiid

9. Thoughts on your real life sports team(s).
Commanders to the playoffs is crazy, could've never imagined. Villanova seems to be turning it around though huge game against UConn on Wednesday. The wizards still stink, but at least Bilal coulibaly looks real and Alex Sarr seems to have turned it around

10. Movies, TV, books, games, whatever recommendations.
Just finished It Takes Two with the GF. Super fun and cute 2 player coop but almost strangled her lol. I wanted Marvel Rivals to suck as an OW fan, but thye are actually doing it better lol, sad! Paddington is one of the best movies ever
FOR THE LAND - believe!

1. Draft thoughts? Sleepers, busts, your draft, other drafts, whatever.
Barnes and Cam Thomas are my fav propsects from this draft. Idk why i get Marion-lite vibes from Scottie but thats going off of gut, I didnt look closely since I didnt have a pick

2. How do you feel about your offseason, and what are your goals for this coming season?
Very happy about getting John Collins back on what I think can be a very team friendly deal if he continues to develop the way im hoping. His per 36 numbers were really nice and if we can get his minutes above 30 ill be very happy. Other than that, not a very excting off season, Cole Anthony coming back for cap space should be interesting he had a cool first year in the NDL.

3. Thoughts on TC?
Just continued dev from Garland, Mikal and Mitch, this is is their last year of camps. Seeing at least 2 of these guys turn into solid pieces would make the JB and Tyus trades worth it to me.

4. Who wins each division and why?

Atlantic: Knicks, Tyus
Central: Pacers, great fun core
Midwest: Jazz, midwest is MID
Pacific: Suns

5. Create the best possible 3 on 3 team in the league using only salaries under $5M - a guard, a wing and a big.

Livingston, Prince, Biyombo

6. Who will be the first GM to have to use the Amnesty Clause and who will they use it on?
Jwoo on someone

7. The tradewinds are a-blowin! Who WILL and SHOULD be the next superstar to go on the block?
Dont matter, hell go for 1/5 of his true value

8. By the end of 2022 (two seasons from now), list who you think the top 5 BEST (not most valuable) players in the league will be.
Kyrie
KD
Luka
Shai
Murray

9. Thoughts on your real life sports team(s).
I think im the only Giants fan on planet earth who's okay with Daboll and Schoen not getting fired

10. Movies, TV, books, games, whatever recommendations.
Just started a sorpanos rewatch. I cant stop saying "the gabool.....over heeeeeaaaar" to my girlfriend

2020-21 Offseason Questionnaire

1. Draft thoughts? Sleepers, busts, your draft, other drafts, whatever.

Fell a couple spots in the lottery and didn't really like any of the guys that fell to me. Maybe should've made the pick but was happy to get some RP and move back. I thought there were a lot of interesting guys even through the early 2nd round. I can't imagine having to blindly draft based off of Lavar's ratings. I thought rapidraft was a pretty huge advantage.

2. How do you feel about your offseason, and what are your goals for this coming season?

Not awesome. Was hoping for a lot of things in FA. Being one of 3 teams with cap space, I thought I was gonna come in and clean up, or at least sign Fultz to a Tony Parker-esque deal. I did neither. It was honestly a pretty horrible FA for me considering the situation. I got too cute and a little unlucky I'd say. If anything, I'm happy I was able to make decent use of the cap space with cap relief trades.

3. Thoughts on TC?

Probably only gonna camp Okongwu. I'm really not expecting too much from anyone but maybe another +1 from Fultz and some improvement from Sexton would be cool. Sexton dropping to C pot after the supercamp has my expectations pretty low, though. Let's see a random uncamped +2 from one of my draft picks. Why not?

4. Who wins each division and why?

Atlantic: Magic. Full season with Aaron Gordon. Booker should keep getting better
Central: Pacers. A lot of young dogs on this squad. Should see a lot of improvement in TC. With Charlotte and Atlanta losing some guys, I like the Pacers here.
Midwest: Jazz. They just always find a way.
Pacific: Kings. They look pretty nice and have some good pieces to trade if they want to. Cory Joseph, D Will, Kemba, Buddy Hield and a supercamped Lonnie Walker = a sweet backcourt. I think Jesse will look to offload one or two of these guys to improve in 4/5 depth.

5. Create the best possible 3 on 3 team in the league using only salaries under $5M - a guard, a wing and a big.

Kemba Walker, Isaac Bonga, Larry Sanders

6. Who will be the first GM to have to use the Amnesty Clause and who will they use it on?

I don't think Jesse has one but Kevin Love needs it.

7. The tradewinds are a-blowin! Who WILL and SHOULD be the next superstar to go on the block?

I was gonna say Lavine but it looks like Mantypas is pushing some chips grabbing Boogie.

8. By the end of 2022 (two seasons from now), list who you think the top 5 BEST (not most valuable) players in the league will be.

FULTZ (him not being in anyone's top 5 disgusts me)
Luka
Zingis Tingis
KD
Jamal Murray

9. Thoughts on your real life sports team(s).

lets go ravens

10. Movies, TV, books, games, whatever recommendations.

Watching Squid Game 2. Feel like nobody talks about how outrageous the acting is. Maybe it's a cultural difference, and I don't really remember it from season 1, but they act with the level of animation of anime characters. It kind of bothers me, but the show is still good. Pretty much all I'm watching right now.

2020-21 Offseason Questionnaire

1. Draft thoughts? Sleepers, busts, your draft, other drafts, whatever.

I had no subscription so IDK. The draft stuff all around was very fun. This was one of the coolest drafts in real life, so I am assuming a number of these guys break out.

2. How do you feel about your offseason, and what are your goals for this coming season?

Feel great. I never could have imagined retaining Joseph, Kemba AND Hart. With $10M in hard cap room going into Free Agency, I thought I'd be lucky to get one back. Now I have 3 starting-caliber players (and one superstar in Joseph) each making $6M each. Very fortunate! Way overpaid to get back into cap compliance with that Clippers trade, so that was the one downer.

3. Thoughts on TC?

Would like Lonnie Walker to have a cool supercamp! Otherwise, have some hope for John Konchar (NDL).

4. Who wins each division and why?

Atlantic: Knicks - Embiid and Turner
Central: Pacers - most complete team
Midwest: Jazz - don't bet against the GOAT
Pacific: Kings - think we should be spicy

5. Create the best possible 3 on 3 team in the league using only salaries under $5M - a guard, a wing and a big.

Kemba Walker, Tyler Herro, Rudy Gobert

6. Who will be the first GM to have to use the Amnesty Clause and who will they use it on?

Jwoo on someone else's bad salary.

7. The tradewinds are a-blowin! Who WILL and SHOULD be the next superstar to go on the block?

Greg Oden. Might be time for a reshuffle

8. By the end of 2022 (two seasons from now), list who you think the top 5 BEST (not most valuable) players in the league will be.

KD (still), Jokic, Embiid, Kyrie, Markelle Fultz

9. Thoughts on your real life sports team(s).

I'm okay with it if Mara told them they were back before the Colts game or didn't give them a one year commitment (basically playoffs or bust) against the hardest schedule in the league next year. Schoen has totally cleaned the cap sheet from Gettleman and is finally drafting well. There should be continuity but giving these guys a 1 year commitment means they are going to trade up for a QB, spend unwisely in FA, etc. to make sure they keep their jobs instead of doing what's best for the org in the long term. I want them back, but Mara is completely at fault for what happened at the end of this season and what's going to happen next season.
