OK one more shot here - should be good now that the players have been on the roster for a sim.

Sorry if I misunderstood here - I thought if these guys were on the roster for a full sim they go from being "signed for a trade" to just being part of the team. If that's not correct, at what point do they change from being "signed for a trade" to all usable in a trade? Not trying to circumvent here, just thought the rule is that it couldn't be done in the same sim.ashes wrote: April 11th, 2025, 12:07 pm these were still 3 vet FAs signed for the trade, I'm confused
Similarly, if I needed to sign a guy to get to 12 players anyway before season tip, and then at the same time sign 2 more guys for a trade and trade all 3, are all 3 of those guys considered signed for a trade or just the latter 2?
Very sorry for being a pain here, if we need to void and figure it out later thats fine, just may have misunderstood how this rule works.

It's not about the length of time a player is on the roster; it's about the limiting the free accumulation of salary to essentially bypass trade matching. 2 is the limit because there are certain understandable frustrations with some of FBB limitations, but anything above $2M the deal probably shouldn't happen. If not capped at 2, then what's to stop 4 from being used for an MLE, then MLE + more for larger and larger salary? I'm not against trading up for more matching salary, but there needs to be limits in place.
I also realize it's something that probably slips through on occasion because it's hard to keep track of. It's why I'd prefer people just post "Vet FA" in a trade rather than signing someone specific in the Sign/Cut forum.

fwiw, the default trade rule in FBB is a 60-day wait period for new players (which I'm sure has/had some real-life basis)

Makes sense. Let's just void this for now and Jordo and I will figure out a different construct
