2027 Draft Profile Big Board
2027 Draft Profile Big Board
As I sit here patiently for the draft lotto, I decided to do a deeper dive on the draft class so far. It's an exciting draft class (as always thanks to the Sim God). I would say there are 4 tiers for the draft profile players, and interestingly enough, there are no 19 year olds. Without further ado...
1. Tyran Stokes - SF 6'7'' 225 20 B+ C C+ C+ B- A
Stokes is the only profile that has the cherished "#1" in the scout's take. If you keep him at SF, most camps will need to go into his shooting. If you move him to PF, he already has solid strength and good inside, where his camps could focus on his stock potential and rebounding.
2. Miikka Murrinen - PF 6'11'' 185 21 B- B B+ B- C+ A
I must say, I didn't know there was a rule against playing someone as a backup PG? Nevertheless, Miikka looks primed to dominate in SLN. He has good inside, strong starting shooting ratings, and looks to have good stock potential. Seems like camps will be focused on his strength and rebounding to be a well-rounded big man.
3. Chris Cenac Jr. - 6'11'' 230 21 C+ C+ C B B- A
A new rarity of ass? Good starting defense and rebounding ratings and C+ C+ inside, outside. His scout's take mentions his upside as a potential all-star caliber big man, so I would take this risk at 3. I think you can develop CenAss anyway you want because of his base ratings and high upside.
4. Karim Lopez - SF 6'8'' 210 20 B C+ C B- C+ A
Can never have too many two-way potential wings. He seems to have a very high floor, with upside. His "great feel for rebounding" will be a plus. He seems to be an easy camp with 3pt, handles, and inside. I think he falls at 4 because he's not as exciting as Tyran, Miikka, and CenAss.
5. Brandon McCoy - PG 6'4'' 160 20 B- C+ C+ C C- A
The wildcard pick of the lotto. His stip is very compelling, and usually, stips tend to equate to OP. I would 100% go +24 lbs and take advantage of the stip because it's fun! I can see him going higher than 5, but also lower because he profiles like Russell Westbrook? Not sure what else to make of McCoy except he will be an interesting storyline for the next 4 seasons.
6. Caleb Wilson - PF 6'9'' 215 21 B- B- C C+ C+ A
Moving on to the next tier of players. Caleb seems to be more of an offensive threat as a big man that can develop on the defensive end. I don't mind taking him at 6 given he has the opposite set of ratings as Chris CenAss.
7. Sebastian Williams-Adams - PF 6'8'' 230 20 B C- C+ B C A
Has "Greek Freak" in his scout's take, and has Jwoo mentioned, I have no idea what to make of SWA. To be a useful player, you will need to camp his rebounding and pray to the TC gods.
8. Jayden Quaintance - C 6'9'' 230 21 B- C- D C+ B- A
Jayden can go higher than this because the premium GMs will put on his blocking and rebounding. I like him here because he has a little less upside in my opinion. If you watch his college tape, he does dominate down low. I think you camp him as a typical big man, blocks, rebounding, inside.
9. Tajh Ariza - SG 6'9'' 195 20 C+ B- C+ B C A
Every team needs that 4th or 5th solid start type. Tajh seems to be the perfect wing with upside on both offense and defense. He will have a high floor. I would camp his offense to see if he can become an efficient mid 20s wing with A defense.
10. Meleek Thomas - PG 6'4'' 180 21 C B C+ B D+ A
Game manager PGs seem to be a trend these days and Meleek may just be the next one. He seems to project as a low inside, volume player but has positive stock to turnover, which any team will covet. Think Lonzo Ball.
11. Alijah Arenas - SG 6'6'' 195 21 C+ B C C+ C A
Arenas seems like the one of the many one-way wings that came before him. He doesn't excite me much, but should be a solid scorer at the next level.
