Most Slept On Guy Per Team

Post by Merv »

You thought this would be bored on a plane. However, 3 hour delay later, we’re getting sauced and this is bored in a lounge!!!!! I asked multiple people for ideas and truly didn’t get much back that was exciting. We are in a content lull!

Without further ado, 1 guy on every team that is SLEPT ON. If you’re keeping these guys quiet, too bad, here’s the megaphone.

Boston:
Reed Sheppard - C+ A- C A- C- (Final Year of Rookie Deal)
There’s not a lot of sleeping on this Boston roster. I feel like nearly everyone is properly discussed and valued. Baby McInnis probably doesn’t get quite enough love, my guess is it is due to the 3.3 TOV per game but that should drop if Boston found a solid 3rd option. Reed is already very efficient and stocky. No PG camps hurts, but I bet Reed is one of the better PGs of this generation and at bare minimum is an elite defensive option. If he happens to resign below market, Reed is going to be elite value.

Miami:
Jean Montero - C B+ A+ A- C- (First year of Baby Max)
Secret is kind of out on Montero after a few puff pieces on free agents. Jean sports A+ handles but only does 1.8 TOV per game, is his handle 100? A pretty perfect game manager, sadly not at a game manager price. Jean is basically the 2027 version of Jason Hart, which means I’m legally required to love him.

New Jersey:
Cooper Flagg (USA version) - A- B C+ A- B- (2 years left on Rookie Deal)
Idk if Coop is slept on as much as this roster is relatively barren and Cooper doesn’t get the love you’d expect for a guy with ratings like this at his age. 18/8 with mild efficiency and stock neutral, if the Nets won more games this year he’d have been more discussed. Cooper looks like he might be the future in this league, and I wish I had him.

New York:
Jalen Green - B A+ B- B- C- (3rd year of Baby Max)
Another one where I think most of this team is properly discussed. The Knicks are probably the most discussed team in the league considering Nav hasn’t made a podcast or article in ages. Jalen has sneakily become one of the best SG’s in the league. Elite efficiency combined with finally being stock neutral (Yeah, he does 2.1 SPG) is pretty great for Jalen. If Nav ever decides to rebuild (as an Atlantic rival, I doubt it, Nav and Joe refuse to tank when I compete) then Jalen will go for the largest of hauls.

Orlando:
Rui Hachimura - A- B D+ A- A- (3 Years left at 18.3/20/21.25)
He’s the best PF of all time and averaged 28.5/12.3 this past season with 8.8 FTA per game and just 1.4 turnovers. Nuff said.

Philadelphia:
Jalen Suggs - C A C A C- (8.9/10.7/11.5)
One of the best value contracts out there. Suggs is a 2 way monster whose only flaw is just okay rebounding. If he hit the open market, he’s an easy max. Suggs is HIM.

Washington:
Skal Labissiere - C C+ D+ A- A- (5.4/5.94/6.48)
Skal Labz really took off in Washington. He resigns cheap, doesn’t turn it over, and boards. Sign me tf up. Skal is probably one of the more valuable bigs in the league with this combo and has been a key to Wes’ success. Does this make AD or Doke expendable for the SF they really need? Perhaps. OPJ for Doke?

Atlanta:
Usman Garuba - C C C- B- A- (3 years at 5.1)
Usman was quietly very good in Indiana and has continued to be quietly very good in Atlanta. Maybe he has no post defense but he boards, blocks, and doesn’t turn it over. Finding useful bigs like this is getting increasingly difficult and Usman is a good one at a nice number.

Charlotte:
Semi Ojeleye - B+ A- D B B+ (20.3/21.875)
He’s not that slept on but there’s 4 guys on this roster and Semi is the best SF in the league. Disagree? Find another 30 PPG scorer who does just 1 turnover per game with a FG% north of 50% and elite rebounding…yeah, exactly. Someone is going to acquire him this season and it is going to take an absolute monster offer. Semi is freaking amazing.

Chicago:
Larry Sanders - C- D+ F B- B- (2.2/2.4)
Yeah, his ratings look freakin’ gross. But the production is super sexy. 2.7/7.0 with 2.2 blocks in 24.8 MPG. Plus the guy ghost resigned for what felt like half his career. I’m amazed Larry is still kicking at 39, but he’s the heart and soul of Bulls culture. I respect this man.

Cleveland:
Ausar Thompson - B+ B C B+ B+ (7.9 for 6 years)
The heir to the Semi mantle. He’s been discussed but do we realize just how amazing Ausar was this year? 24.2/7.9 2.1 SPG 0.9 BPG 1.6 TOV .458/.350/.850 at the age of 25. Manty, send him to Orlando now pls.

Detroit:
Cade Cunningham - B+ A A- B C (4 years left at Baby Max)
Maybe this list is just under-discussed stars lol. Detroit has a lot of pretty ratings guys with underwhelming production. Not Cade! 27.7 PPG playing at SF! If this guy played PG and you could weather the TOVs, he’s doing 35 per game?

Indiana:
Josh Minott - C+ C C- B+ B- (2.5 for 4 years)
This roster was extremely underwhelming this past year. I’m not even sure Minott is slept on because Tong talks about this guy like he’s the second coming, but who would you choose? Minott looks like a nice rebounding, stocky wing who doesn’t shoot much. (No wonder Tong likes him, man has a type)

Milwaukee:
Robert Williams - C+ C- D+ B A (8.5/9.6/10.5/11.25)
Resigned in Milwaukee when McDaniels did and was more or less never talked about again. Time Lord is one of about 3-4 A rebounders in an era where rebounding is impossible to find. He does about 13.6 per 36 with okay stocks and doesn’t shoot a ton. It’s surprising no one lusts over him on a pod the way certain butts are. I don’t know what the shelf life is of this Milwaukee team but I think Rob gets more in return than Tyus?

Toronto:
The Entire Roster minus Wemby
I asked Jwoo who was slept on and he named like 85% of this roster. True story. He did feel Amen was particularly under-discussed. Must be a Thompson twin thing? Amen did 3.5 Stocks to 1 turnover shooting 49% from the field with 8.5 RPG. Oh yea, and scored 22 PPG. This guy is pretty freaking good. Who would fetch more in a trade? Wemby or Amen? I think the answer is actually Amen? Don’t look now but the most slept on team ever has 6 top 5 picks and they all turned out good.

Dallas:
Dash Daniels - C B+ C+ B- C (Year 2 of Rookie Deal)
Dash was a pretty elite 13th overall pick from Hoff. I guarantee he’s traded this offseason for some stud, because would he be Hoff if he didn’t? PG eligible and out of the box doing 2.7 TOV per 36 with efficiency? Pretty nice, reminds me of a young Anthony Black minus the efficiency (Scary).

Denver:
Zaccharie Risacher - B A- C+ A- C (12.5/13.125/13.781)
Did you guys know Zach was good? Because I didn’t. Seems like the entire Denver roster just snuck under the radar almost all season because there wasn’t a single big on the thing. Recently signed to one of those 3 year offer sheets that won’t let you offer more than the max afterwards [that blows], Zach is 22 with sexy ratings and likely due for the late stage SF bump. Pretty fun prospect if you ask me, future star in Denver imo.

Houston:
Pacome Dadiet - C+ C+ C- A- C (minimum)
There’s a super camp coming his way. Thaddeus Young and Andre Roberson welcome Pacome to the defensive wings who randomly got super camps club! Pacome reminds me of Colby Jones, a wing who guards, steals, and rebounds while being a shot funnel; plus he’s getting +26 this offseason and he offered to resign for a min. Yeah, send me Pacome pls. I think Pacome will end up bouncing around the league but every GM who has him will love him.

Minnesota:
Nic Claxton - C+ D+ C- B B- (minimum)
This roster is barren of good players outside of Giannis [sorry Pankin]. Ace will probably be fun and interesting but he’s got a ways to go. Ja is stuck as a SG and isn’t efficient at all. So Clax it is? He is pretty stocky and resigns cheap? That’s the best I got.

San Antonio:
Jaden McDaniels - A- A- C A C- (7.8/8.8/9.6/10.3)
Doing 19 per game with 3.6 stocks to 1 turnover per game with moderate efficiency on this contract? Probably the one of, if not the very best value deals in SLN. Jaden’s cheap contract has enabled Burrito to go after some other players with bigger contracts and build out a balanced roster. Jaden is arguably a top 4-5 SG in SLN. Disagree? Get at me.

Utah:
Domantas Sabonis - A- A- B B A- (17.5/19.25/21/22.75)
There’s literally 2 guys on this roster who played more than 5 minutes per game last year. True story. People swear Domas is underrated? I think he’s pretty accurately viewed as an offensive freight train with some turnovers and defensive drawbacks. On this deal, it’ll be interesting to see how he’s viewed at the age of 31. I bet he ends up somewhere averaging 25/12.

Vancouver:
Kon Knueppel (Year 3 of Rookie Deal)
Flat A shooting in Y2 and scored 21.3 PPG with just 1.3 TOV on .489/.476/.890 shooting. WOW! I think this guy might be better than Mike Dunleavy (@Ashes). I’m not sure how much upside the IRL 4th overall pick (@ashes, he really went 4th) has left but this is a pretty sick base. If Josh gets lucky and Kon signs one of those random 7-8M contracts, he’s in business.

Golden State:
Mikal Bridges - B+ A- C B+ C (15.6M expiring)
His contract was once considered multiple Siakam’s [interesting metric], but man did Mikal take that criticism and improve. He averaged 25 and 6 this season doing 2.8 stocks to 1.5 turnovers. In an era where wings are hard to find, Mikal has popped as an under the radar very good one.

LA Clippers:
Joan Beringer - B- D+ D A- C+ (Year 3 of Rookie Deal)
This team has had a few people get sporadic love. Brandon Clarke is the best 3rd big in SLN and now a champion! But Joan (pronounced Yo-Ahn Bear-in-zhee) is basically Jordan Bell reincarnated with less turnovers. If the rebounding comes around at all, this guy is going to be freakin’ awesome.

LA Lakers:
Jared McCain - B A- B- C D+ (Year 4 of Rookie Deal)
If you like guys that don’t guard or board, TikTok man is for you! Rumor has it GX paints his fingernails just like him. Jared can really score but brings some turnovers and poor rebounding with him. Not sure what the real upside is, but this roster is desolate.

Phoenix:
Jahlil Okafor - B+ C- D B- A (6.3/6.9/7.5)
He went super under the radar then Tyler loudly proclaimed he was amazing after resigning. After being quietly good in Utah for a few seasons, Jahlil has finally burst on the scene. One of the few A rebounds, Jahlil also does some blocks and brings great efficiency for a big man.

Portland:
Killian Hayes - C A- B+ B+ C- (5.9/6.6/7.2/7.7)
I once tried to get Killian for 800ish RP and got rejected. He was usurped in Miami by Jean Montero but he’s an incredibly low turnover PG doing just 1.8 per 36 and shooting .482/.462/.783. He might actually be Jason Hart when you factor in the cheap resigns. At just 26 and getting PG TCs there’s even some small potential for a random CoJo-esque pop.

Sacramento:
Brandin Podziemski - C+ A- C+ B C+ (2.6/2.9)
I don’t have any idea who is even on this roster anymore. Dude trades too much. I assume Podz is? As a wing with A- outside and positive rebounding, you’ve got Magic DNA. Shooting .470/.447/.800 and doing 8 boards per 36. You wish the turnovers were lower but no one is perfect I guess. Can’t wait for Jesse to hype this guy and move him for a FRP.

Seattle:
Derrick Jones Jr. - B B C- A C (12.4/13.5)
Feel like he flew under the radar after the breakout of Cam Whitmore this year. DJJ seemed to lock up any perimeter player he came across. Thank god Jamal plays PG. He’s low turnover and has gotten pretty efficient, not sure what he costs to acquire but DJJ has been crucial to Nick’s success.

Update: I’m still in the lounge, had to change flights, my bag ended up on a different flight and I’m going to have another drink. Yay travel.

Missed Rui's 285ppg season. I'd agree that makes him the best SLN PF ever
