Jamal mashburn HOF- Vote too
history/08/ heat team page
Without further adieu, Nick and I are proud to announce our latest SLN HOF inductee, Jamal "Smash" Mashburn. The OG creation draft guy, he was picked 20th overall by the rockets where he spent three successful sesaons scoring that rock pick of the Rockets with the 20th overall pick, with his most successful season in Htown being in 1998, where he averaged an at the time career high in PPG at 29.9, while shooting the ball efficiently at 46.4%. This season earned himself his first all star appearance and first all SLN nod. He jumped around to a few other teams in his tenure, in order, Bulls (3 seasons), suns (two seasons), kings (one season), Nuggets (3 seasons) and closed it out with the spurs.
Most known for his scoring ability, Mashburn has a career high of 69 points, which I believe is most points scored in SLN history. He had six seasons of averaging 29 points or more. His most impressive scoring season was in 2002 with the suns, where he averaged 36.6! PPG on 48% efficiency from the field. Always a dangerous man on the court, he never averaged less than 18.5 PPG in a season. His career average is 26.6 PPG, which is wild considering some of the guys he was going up against. Though he never won a championship, he was close many times and has won all of our hearts. Congrats Mashy Mash, well deserved!
