2012-2013 Team Stats

Hola señores. Back with another season of team stats visualizations

here are my findings!
  • Rockets delta chart looks real nice. leading league in differentials for points per game, rebounds and assists. Rockets defense was stellar, holdings opponents to fewest FG and FGA in the league. Wild to be second in FGPG differential while having only 92 FGA per game, while also getting to the line 39 times a game (#2 at 32)
  • Hornets were really good for a team with 1.7 turnovers more than their opponents and got beat behind the arc
  • Suns dominated turnovers, with a league leading 3.2 differential
  • 76ers held their opponents to 36.6% from 3, Jazz allowed 42.9%
  • Nuggets are very solid on the Delta chart, and led the league with 5.3 more FGA than their opponents. Nuggz super well rounded throughout, and hsot the rock 5.3 more times than opponents, 4.5 of which were 2s
  • Grizz and Celtics had some bad luck with solid point differentials but low win totals
  • Not a big change in league play overall. Pace has continued to increase slightly league wide. 3P shooting increases but efficiency suffers. Turnovers ticking up and blocks coming down.

Welcome to Atlanta where the playas play
And we ride on dem thangs like ev-ery day
Big beats, hit streets, see gangstahs roamin'
And parties don't stop 'til eight in the Monin

I wonder if our poor perimeter defense impacts our opponents free throw percentage as we were 28th in the league. I should trade for Lance Stephenson so he can blow on people and get in their heads while they are at the line
