Proposal for Modernized Lottery Odds (with FAQ)

I generally like flatter odds so i'm not opposed to this but also think that people tanking to the extent that they do is irrational and overboard even given the current odds. If the perception of flatter odds changes behavior, than great. Obviously flatter odds create a perverse incentive to barely miss the playoffs and could lead to teams taking their foot off the gas near the deadline and purposefully ducking the playoffs. We could rejigger playoff RPs to try to compensate.

To me it is a logistical challenge that Ashes would have to be okay with. It would require work on his part to swap picks within the game, which would be annoying.

And obviously, would be ridiculous to institute for his coming draft (though a team like mine would benefit the most!). Should have a 2-year warning, at minimum.

(And to clarify: this is not possible to do within FBB, it would have do be done by ashes manually).

Thought this was addressed pretty clearly in the proposal, but Ashes has said he’s all good with it, we just need to create a job for someone to assist him with the logistical legwork, because yes it will be annoying

I am indifferent on when we should implement overall, more just enthusiastic to improve the system, but I feel like two seasons is plenty of time

Also - if people tank in the middle of the pack and prefer a 4.8% chance at a top four pick to making the playoffs and having fun, we have our priorities wrong lol

but he's the sim gawd and has way more patience than any simmer i have seen so it sounds like he is good w/ it!
