Strengths: Electric dunker. Can jump out of the gym. Good quickness and strength. Will get blocks and steals. Decent rebounder.
Weaknesses: Outside game is rough. Not a great free throw shooter and is even worse beyond the arc, but will unfortunately still chuck them up. Handles are a concern as well.
Scout's Take: Josh Smith is an exciting but flawed player. He can fly and will create a lot of value on the defensive end, but offensively he may do more harm than good. Scouts wonder how committed a team will be to try to elevate him to the next level. There's no denying the upside is there.
