2028 Draft Profile Guys
2028 Draft – Crude Initial Ranking of the Draft Profile Guys (I’m Dumb)
1. Karim Lopez SF 6'8'' 210 21 B C+ C B- C+ A
High inside with a decent jump shot, plays defense / gets stocks, good rebounding and athleticism. His range should develop over time as a wing, so his main weakness appears to be handling. With some TC luck there he should be an all-around beast.
2. Godson Okokoh PF 6'8'' 220 20 C B+ C B+ C A
One of the best shooters in the draft, takes care of the ball, blocks lots of shots, good athleticism. Bad rebounding for a big… this smells of quickly moving to SF for many SLN GMs. Very fun/weird build and great name.
3. Dooney Johnson SF 6'5'' 195 20 B- C+ B C+ C+ A
Another SF with handling problems that can play PG. Will turn it over a lot but should be a huge plus on the boards and get to the line a bunch against smaller guards. I would wait and see on this guy and supercamp his weirdly shaped ass and pray for the next Luka. Also another great name.
4. Bruce Branch III SF 6'7'' 190 20 B- B- C B C A
Solid inside and jump shot, plays defense with good athleticism but doesn’t get after it on the boards. Handles and strength aren’t great. Kinda boring but seems to be Karim Lopez-lite who could be a great starter for any team.
5. Jayden Quaintance C 6'9'' 230 22 B- C- D+ B- B- A
Most explosive big in the draft. Very good shot blocking and strength, good rebounding and inside scoring. Will take too many shots and turn it over though, so if his efficiency never comes around he may become unstartable.
6. Boyuan Zhang SF 6'8'' 20 20 C+ B C+ C+ C- A
Can score from anywhere on the floor, but doesn’t contribute much in terms of stocks or boards. His stip of +/- 10 potential for the first four seasons is exciting, but he could also end up being total buns. Or he could evolve from Boyuan into Boban.
7. Baba Oladotun SG 6'7'' 185 19 C A- C C C A
Incredible shooter, you never see A- outside at draft with A potential. Also has good handling and fine rebounding. However, you know he’s going to be ass on defense and is weak. On the right team, he could be an absolute weapon.
8. Beckham Black PG 6'2'' 185 19 B+ C+ B+ C D+ B
Does some things well for a PG, but is a mediocre shooter / defender and an awful rebounder. If his shooting does come around, he’ll be a force to be reckoned with on the offensive end. He’s also 19, which provides additional upside.
9. King Gibson SG 6'4'' 185 20 B C+ C B C- B
A very different SG than Baba, King is focused on athleticism, finishing at the rim, and getting some stocks. His handling is suspect, his rebounding is very bad, and he doesn’t have the range.
Haven't seen exhibition games or done any scouting, just firing from the hip here.
