NBA Legends as SLN Players

Happy FA period all. As I am an RP poor man who had an idea, and finally have time now that I’ve gotten thru my MAI tests (look that shit up, pretty annoying real estate appraisal stuff there), I had time to sit down to do a semi-creative thing. My inspiration came from Jordo’s fictional character fights. I was wondering what would some of the all time greats pre 1996 look like in our modern SLN. I was also inspired by the NBA 2K12 game mode where you played as some of the all time greats I’m listing here. Now I’ve only consulted some stats and a few highlights, I am really just winging ratings but I hope you all enjoy.

Magic Johnson - PG
A-, B-, A+, A-, B+

Stips: Can only start at PG, but can start at C if the starting C is hurt, only allowed to play 12 consecutive seasons

Strengths – incredible passer, good finisher, very strong for the position, incredible handles, Good positional D and has size to match up with bigs

Weaknesses – Not great range

Would he be as good as IRL – I went back and forth on this and thinking about Shawn Livingston, I vote slightly worse, but still an elite PG, especially in a balanced or inside offense

Larry Bird - SF
B+, A+, B+, A-, B+

Stip – Will sit a season after his first nine – ratings will be cut in half for his final three season

Strengths – Scores at will from anywhere, amazing jumpshot, limitless range, great passer, guards with heart, will get a bunch of rebounders as a wing

Weaknesses – Not the best athlete

Would he be as good as IRL – Even better, his jumpshot is built for the SLN

Julius (Doctor J) Irving – SG/SF
A+, C+, B-, A, B

Stip – will play his first five seasons in the ALN

Strengths – Incredible athlete, electric finisher, great perimeter defender, will get steals, good rebounder for his position

Weaknesses – No three point game

Would he be as good as IRL – only in a balanced or inside offense

Bill Russell - C

C, D, C+, A+, A

Stip – Adds +5 Positional D to all starters

Strengths – good passer for his size, Best defender you’ve seen, good strength, Amazing rebounding, incredibly athleticism

Weaknesses – Not known for offensive game, a bit undersized for the position, bossy (would be a great head coach in the future)

Would he be as good as IRL – not 11 championships good, but he would be the ideal SLN big butt

Wilt Chamberlain – C
A+, D-, C, A-, A+
Stip - Bad work ethic - comes in amazing, and only goes down in TC

Strengths – Strongest guy around, solid passer, scores at will in the paint, Very good rebounding, very good athleticism

Weaknesses – Will get to the line, but will not be efficient there, not looking to pass

Would he be as good as IRL – well probably not dominating like he did in the 50s and 60s, but I see him as a Shaq guy, just bullying big men. Could really dominate in a few seasons where all we have is tweeners

Kareem Abdul Jabbar
A+, B-, C-, A, A
Stip - Changes his name from Lew Alcinder to Kareem Abdul Jabbar after his first championship. Will be Lew Alcinder for his career if he does not win

Strengths – automatic from 5-8 feet, very strong, very good rebounding, will get blocks and steals, very strong, average free throw shooter

Weaknesses – No range outside 3

Would he be as good as IRL – Yes – I see him as Inside Jokic that plays defense and rebounds better without taking any 3s.
