TL;DR - free RPs for a quick post!

Get these done before the tip of next season!

Every year, every GM's got his studs and it's duds, his craftiest moves and most embarrassing flops. For 75RPs, fill out the answers to the following questions and post it in the thread - think of these as your post-season Dundies, awarding each of the first 4 to players on your team, and then reflect on some of the key moments from your year. Post these whenever! Just get em done before sim 1. Offseason questionnaire will be posted later on.

Once you've posted, DO NOT claim your RP in the RP thread - we will calculate at the end.

TEAM AWARDS

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Cooper Flagg. There were some understandable issues as he acclimated to the league, but he took all the steps forward that he needed to in 2029. It's fun to describe him as "solid" in addition to being talented. He might not be able to carry a team offensively, but he's very well-rounded and the shooting was more than playable this year (eFG% from .482 to .501 is a massive difference at his volume).

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Cooper Flagg. We love the steals, we trust the perimeter defense, and I'm hoping that an extra strength boost will fuel his ability to guard bigger players at the three. Well-rounded.

MOST IMPROVED: Onyeka Okongwu. I dunno, I like him, we played much better when starting him. This is a sub-tweet to Joe, whose "ratings whore" comments offend us! (Even though they might be accurate ...)

SIXTH MAN: Cason Wallace. He doesn't shoot well enough to play shooting guard. He can't play point guard. He doesn't bother to rebound. BUT, he's a sweet backup point guard, stabilized the team, and went surprisingly insane over the last ten games. No one will want to play him more than 20 minutes, but no one will want to play him less than 10 minutes.

BIGGEST SURPRISE: Killian Hayes. He really is a winner, isn't he? He shined in Portland, did very well with the Knicks, and obviously contributed to the Nets taking a step forward. To Quady's previous point, Swamp Steven has been fielding nonstop escalations from Killian's infuriated agent after the Luka deal. (I don't blame him.) Killian is known as a game manager, but his perimeter defense is under-appreciated. It's not outrageous to suggest he'll be much better value than some "winners" of the upcoming FA Point Guard sweepstakes. We'll get him a great landing spot (most likely) and that team will absolutely adore him as well, even if he's unfairly viewed a consolation prize.

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: Robert Williams I and Robert Williams II - I know "win-win" gets thrown around but I thought GX & Kittles had perfect alignment for the "Day 99" trade. GX is poised to take a huge step forward with strong big men and flexibility with prospects. This had cascading effects on the Nets, however, as it cleared money and also took pressure off of a stronger sell (which we really didn't want, to be honest). Hitting 42 wins was nice and ironically wouldn't have happened without selling an A-rebounding center. It's not the end all, be all, but this is an incredibly difficult game and it was nice to see a good framework around Cooper without needing to sell the farm. Until we did.

REGRETS: Was really, really disappointed by the slow start. Kittles needed to make better depth chart adjustments sooner. There were too many issues with bench alignment and unnecessarily weak defensive minutes. Thankfully, we brought up the Long Island coach at the All-Star break and greatly improved defensively, leading to a strong 30-16 post-ASB record. That said, finishing only four games behind an insanely good 8-seed in Cleveland (even with the injuries) isn't a gap that I feel like we could have made up. Good learning experiences overall!

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Ant
His points ticked up nearly 4ppg even with a full season of MPJ and Maxey next to him. He led our team in scoring and was top 5 in SLN in steals.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: AD
He's still incredible, 4.1 stocks to 1.2 TOs. Elite rebounding and his shooting percentages keep ticking up as he ages.

MOST IMPROVED: MPJ
His jump shot improved almost 5% which led to an increase in his overall FG%. His TOs drastically came down, about .6 from the previous two years. With about 65-70 pot left in the tank (thanks superscout) it wouldn't surprise me to see him get to A+ outside with some additional under the hood jumps as well.

SIXTH MAN: Chuma Okeke
He was an elite 1/2/3 supersub after acquiring him at the deadline. Good enough handles to play point guard and often would rack up 20+ points when getting the most minutes at the 1

BIGGEST SURPRISE: MPJs turnovers coming down so much.

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Maxey not offering another sweetheart resigning

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: Chuma, he added scoring, rebounding, and low TOs off the bench.

REGRETS: Not necessarily a regret but Tyler and I had some good Kyrie trade discussions. Not sure if it would have been enough to beat the Raptors but would of made it a much more interesting playoff run in DC

TEAM AWARDS

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Josh Okogie - goddamn what an absolute 2 way unit. Was worried the offense would be fucked without brunson, and though it wasnt as good as I wanted it to be, Okogie kinda held it together

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Anthony Black - that dude is a beast!

MOST IMPROVED: Anthony Black ! He was actually efficient scoring for the first time ever

SIXTH MAN: Dybantsa - he held it down and was super efficient for the first half of the season. Great at the 1-3 supersub role

BIGGEST SURPRISE: Our scorching hot start. I thought we had a slightly worse team than last year due to losing a lot of depth at the wings but we were kicking the shit out of a lot of teams

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Our second half stumble, falling from 3 to 8 was brutal, then having to play the eventual champs in the first round is just not fun

TRADE/ACQUISITION OF THE YEAR: Josh Okogie, he nice AF!

REGRETS: Not going balls in for Lauri. If we did so, would've probably stayed close to the top of the east or at least not the 8 seed, and I feel like we'd have a shot at the title given the fight we gave the Raps (closest 4-1 series ive ever seen)
FOR THE LAND - believe!
