2030 Free Agent Roundup (Final)

Post by SourKittles »

The free agent roundup is back for 2030!

Comments, additions, insults, thoughts: all welcome!

--

AJ Dybantsa SG
Previous Team: Cavaliers
24
B+ B B+ A- C B
Bird Years: 4

The former 2nd overall pick is an SLN Champion! About his standalone value: Dybantsa hasn't jumped off the page (yet) but that could be attributed to elite surroundings. With good inside scoring, decent free throw rate, and room to grow, he'll likely stick with the defending champs on the RFA Tag.

Alex Sarr C
Previous Team: Cavaliers
25
B+ C+ C B+ C+ C
Bird Years: 6

In Cleveland's "next man up" frontcourt, Sarr played some decent minutes, posting good block rates, a decent 46 percent clip from the field, and barely turned it over. He could stick in SLN as a role player.

Amari Williams C
Previous Team: Bullets
29
C+ D+ B A- B C
Bird Years: 1

Williams rebounded well and put up a near 2-to-1 stock-to-turnover ratio for the overachieving Bullets rebuild crew.

Anfernee Simons SG
Previous Team: Celtics
31
B+ A B- B- C- C
Bird Years: 3

Simons has never quite emerged as a consistent go-to guy in his many stops. He deferred to not only Kevin Durant (happy trails), but also Isaiah Evans in 2029. Could his minutes spike back up this year?

Anthony Edwards SG
Previous Team: Bullets
29
A- A- A- A- C- C
Bird Years: 10

Late but worth the wait, Edwards emerged as a bona fide superstar when handed the keys in Washington. Scoring up, steals up, turnovers down, and he was the Nets' daddy all year so I felt personally targeted.

Ariel Hukporti C
Previous Team: Bullets
28
C D D B- B C
Bird Years: 1

B-rebounders crack rosters.

Austin Reaves SG
Previous Team: Mavericks
32
B A- C+ C D+ C
Bird Years: 1

Decent bench scoring type.

Badara Diakite C
Previous Team: Rockets
25
C C D+ C B- C
Bird Years: 2

Played 12.5 minutes per game in Houston's frontcourt. Light in defensive contributions.

Bam Adebayo C
Previous Team: Nuggets
33
B- C C A A- C
Bird Years: 13

Same as he ever was: you take the good (excellent rebounding, steady 3 stocks per game) with the bad (too much shooting and too many turnovers).

Bones Hyland PG
Previous Team: Heat
30
C+ A C+ C+ C- C
Bird Years: 9

My writeup threshold is around here: 50 games, 10-ish minutes. Your Bones got a little turnover machine (sorry, paying homage to the uh… 3.5-hour Pixies concert that jwoo and I accidentally saw). Bones is a good shooter though.

Brandin Podziemski SG
Previous Team: Bullets
27
C A- C+ B C+ C
Bird Years: 7

Fared OK as a blending player in the Anthony Edwards show. Posted a career-high 23.1 minutes.

Brandon Miller SG
Previous Team: Bulls
28
B A- C- B C- C
Bird Years: 3

Miller scores well, defends fairly well, but hasn't found the right fit thus far in his SLN career.

Brooks Loftin C
Previous Team: Heat
21
C C C- C C B
Bird Years: 1

Probably very good at losing games: go off Brooks Loftin!

Christian Wood PF
Previous Team: Knicks
35
B C+ C C+ B- D
Bird Years: 1

Another tank commander in 2029, though frankly he wasn't terrible.

Chuma Okeke SF
Previous Team: Mavericks
32
B B C B B D
Bird Years: 7

Chuma was a hot commodity after surging post-2028-29 trade deadline. However, he didn't quite click with the Lakers and fell out of a strong Mavericks rotation.

Clint Capela C
Previous Team: Nuggets
36
C+ D+ D B B+ D
Bird Years: 4

Capela survived the 2030 off-season's "Sudden Departure." Still an average, effective butt (citing the Butt Rankings) with his strong rebounding.

Darius Garland SG
Previous Team: Nets
31
C+ A B+ C- C- C
Bird Years: 6

Returned to New Jersey as a depth guard and played in all 82 games.

Dash Daniels SG
Previous Team: Bulls
23
C B+ C+ B- C C
Bird Years: 4

A solid player. Just didn't inherit the Daniels steals gene, somehow.

Devin Carter PG
Previous Team: Bullets
28
C+ B C B+ C C
Bird Years: 1

Thrust into his first opportunity at age 28, Carter did a fantastic job. He posted solid offensive numbers and a good steals rate. Unlikely to be a plus long-term starter, but would be great backup insurance.

Dillon Brooks SF
Previous Team: Nets
35
B- B+ C B C D
Bird Years: 13

The old man needed a team! Nets' nostalgia (he was really good when I joined in 2025-26) fueled a small trade for Brooks, who cracked the rotation but may have taught Cooper some iffy shooting mechanics.

Donte DiVincenzo SG
Previous Team: Hornets
34
C+ A- C+ C C C
Bird Years: 5

Solid player, if unspectacular. DiVincenzo had another good shooting season, is a plus rebounder in his position, but gives some back on the other end of the floor.

Franz Wagner SF
Previous Team: Knicks
29
B- A- C+ C C C
Bird Years: 9

Nick's favorite player of all time? Franz was unsurprisingly pretty bad in an expanded role, but made the Knicks' impressive young talent look even better.

Fred VanVleet PG
Previous Team: Bulls
36
C- A B B+ C D
Bird Years: 14

One year removed from a good 3-and-D SG season in Utah, FVV's turnover streak at point guard once again reared its ugly head.

Herbert Jones SF
Previous Team: SuperSonics
32
B+ B C- A- C C
Bird Years: 1

A solid defensive specialist who shot 47 percent in a supporting role.

Hudson Greer SF
Previous Team: Kings
24
B- A- C B+ C C
Bird Years: 4

Greer saw his minutes reduced in 2029 as the Kings auditioned a wider range of players.

Immanuel Quickley SG
Previous Team: Knicks
31
C A A- C+ C C
Bird Years: 10

After nine years in Minnesota, IQ landed in New York and played just 7.8 minutes per game.

Isaac Okoro SF
Previous Team: Pacers
30
B+ A- C C+ C- C
Bird Years: 6

Okoro can be a mixed bag: Tong instantly hated him. He has a decent track record, though, and I'll be curious to see if his next destination can hide his weaknesses.

JT Toppin C
Previous Team: Mavericks
25
B+ C D+ B+ B+ C
Bird Years: 4

An interesting player, Toppin boasts three B+ ratings heading into his age-25 season. He could "break right," or end up in the unenviable "shoots too much" territory.

Ja Morant PG
Previous Team: SuperSonics
31
A- B B+ B- C- D
Bird Years: 11

Morant came out guns blazing in the first few sims, before natural regression kicked in. He was still busy and quite effective running point for Seattle, finishing with 45/89/42 splits.

Jabari Smith Jr. C
Previous Team: Hawks
27
B C+ F+ C+ B D
Bird Years: 2

Today I learned that Jabari Smith was a failed Nets project. Oh well! He provided decent depth on a strong Hawks club in 2029.

Jakob Poeltl C
Previous Team: Magic
35
C+ D+ C B+ B+ D
Bird Years: 1

Poeltl went Iron Man and played 88 games in 2029. He made his way over to Orlando mid-season (for only 450 RP), helping the Magic surge to another Atlantic crown.

Jalen Haralson SG
Previous Team: Jazz
24
B B- B+ B- C+ B
Bird Years: 4

Haralson has a versatile skillset, but he'll need some strong Training Camps in order to improve on his 40% shooting and relatively high turnover rate.

Jalen Suggs SG
Previous Team: 76ers
29
C+ A C A C- C
Bird Years: 9

Among the most interesting names to watch in free agency. Will probably command the 2nd-level max with his terrific perimeter shooting and defense.

James Wiseman C
Previous Team: Pacers
29
B B- C- B+ A- C
Bird Years: 10

The right idea and the wrong execution. The definition of a "'tweener," Wiseman has had his share of great moments, but his iffy shooting and lack of stockiness cap his upside.

Jared McCain SG
Previous Team: Clippers
26
B B+ C B+ C D+ C
Bird Years: 1

McCain rejoined the Clippers through leftover free agency and served as a third-stringer for most of the year.

Jarrett Allen C
Previous Team: Warriors
32
C+ C C A- B+ C
Bird Years: 9

Allen is a very serviceable big, who is perhaps a bit underrated now. After a lengthy standoff with the Celtics front office, he rebounded and defended well for Golden State.

Jaxson Hayes C
Previous Team: Knicks
30
B C D C B- C
Bird Years: 1

The wrong stuff from the wrong butt.

Jaylen Brown SG
Previous Team: Lakers
34
B- B+ D B+ C C
Bird Years: 14

The veteran's career has gotten a lot quieter in recent seasons, but he's still a high-floor, low-turnover player who rarely hurts his team.

Jaylon Tyson SG
Previous Team: Magic
28
B A- C C C+ C
Bird Years: 1

Shooting specialist and part of the Magic's 2026 title winner.

Jeremy Sochan SF
Previous Team: 76ers
27
B- B C A- B C
Bird Years: 1

Not many players are exactly like Sochan, for better or for worse. Rebounds and defends well, and should continue to be popular around MLE-range.

John Collins PF
Previous Team: Hornets
33
B B- D B- A- D
Bird Years: 13

"Older Vet Potential Starter" label (love Quady's big man article) works for Collins and sounds like a good album name. Had good moments in Houston.

Julian Champagnie SG
Previous Team: Warriors
29
B- A- C- B- C D
Bird Years: 8

Intriguing guard who didn't lift off after promising campaigns in Indiana.

Kasparas Jakucionis SG
Previous Team: Trail Blazers
24
C+ B+ B- C C C
Bird Years: 5

"Play for Winner: 100" guy but might have to hold the towels if he does get to a big winner.

Keldon Johnson SG
Previous Team: Timberwolves
31
B+ A- C- C C+ D
Bird Years: 1

Great shooter/scorer type, although the turnovers felt loud this season. Should crack a roster and be effective in the right situation.

Kira Lewis Jr. PG
Previous Team: Grizzlies
29
C A- B+ B C- B
Bird Years: 1

Returned home to Vancouver and nearly earned his 2nd straight championship!

LaMelo Ball PG
Previous Team: Spurs
29
C+ A A+ A- C B
Bird Years: 10

Preparing for another highly consequential free agency. One of the most consistent players on the file at only 29 years old.

LiAngelo Ball SF
Previous Team: Knicks
33
C+ A C B C C
Bird Years: 8

Sad I missed the LaVar era. FA this year feels like a big day for the family patriarch.

Lonzo Ball PG
Previous Team: Kings
32
C- A A A- C C
Bird Years: 3

Emerged as an excellent shooter. After signing 2-year and 1-year deals, he's been in unusual limbo for a player of his caliber. Curious to see where Lonzo is playing at this year's deadline; that spot could easily be Sacramento.

Luguentz Dort SG
Previous Team: Warriors
31
C+ A- C- B- C- D
Bird Years: 3

Not an insult: if I had to choose the definitive "average SLN player" it would be Lu Dort. Can kind of move around, can kind of do things, but you likely don't want him in a featured role.

Luke Kornet C
Previous Team: Cavaliers
35
C+ B+ C- B C+ C
Bird Years: 1

Did not play a single minute this year. Gets a writeup because he's a clear fan favorite! And is still around!

Malachi Moreno C
Previous Team: Celtics
24
C+ C- C B A- D
Bird Years: 4

Moreno lived up to the hype during his first two years in Boston and landed a well-deserved RFA tag. Blocks shots and rebounds well without getting in the way offensively.

Malik Beasley SG
Previous Team: Mavericks
34
B- A- C- C- C- D
Bird Years: 1

Puts up points.

Marcus Sasser PG
Previous Team: Heat
30
C A C+ A- D+ C
Bird Years: 2

Exciting combination of outside/defense grades, but has long felt like an odd man out in this "haves and have not's" Point Guard era.

Mark Williams C
Previous Team: Bucks
29
A- C- D C+ B+ C
Bird Years: 1

Good rebounding rates. Struggles to score efficiently.

Matisse Thybulle SF
Previous Team: Pacers
33
C- C+ D+ A C- D
Bird Years: 11

The widely beloved stock-to-turnover legend should have immense value as long as he's around.

Maxime Raynaud C
Previous Team: Mavericks
28
C+ B D+ C+ B+ B
Bird Years: 1

Someone who I think will play more this year. Still sitting at B-pot.

Mikal Bridges SG
Previous Team: Nets
34
B A- C B- C- C
Bird Years: 12

Slipped in last year's TCs but supported Luka & Cooper in the Nets offense.

Mikel Brown Jr.
Previous Team: Timberwolves
25
C- A- A C D+ B
Bird Years: 4

Brown was on an upward trajectory after an impressive sophomore campaign. Possesses "game manager" qualities in droves. His ceiling feels capped due to limited volume and defense.

Mitchell Robinson C
Previous Team: Clippers
32
B- D D- B+ A- D
Bird Years: 12

Man in the middle of a strong Clippers era. Jumped up to 2.9 blocks per game in 2029.

Noa Essengue SF
Previous Team: Suns
24
B B- C- A C+ B
Bird Years: 1

Two years removed from being two years removed from being compared to Cooper Flagg.

OG Anunoby SF
Previous Team: Heat
33
C A- C- B+ C C
Bird Years: 13

Passable defensive specialist.

Olivier Rioux C
Previous Team: Nets
25
C C- D B- B D
Bird Years: 3

A very tall man, the former second-rounder served as frontcourt depth in New Jersey.

Pascal Siakam SF
Previous Team: Knicks
36
B- C+ C B+ C+ C
Bird Years: 1

SLN Siakam did not work out, did he?

Richaun Holmes C
Previous Team: Knicks
37
C C F+ C B- F
Bird Years: 1

How many guys played 20 minutes per game for the Knicks in 2029? It doesn't add up!

Sadiq White SF
Previous Team: Pistons
24
B- A C C+ C B
Bird Years: 4

White does have scoring potential. Curious to see who steps up for the Pistons in a post-LeBron-current-Bronny era.

Sandro Mamukelashvili C
Previous Team: Raptors
31
B+ B- C C A- C
Bird Years: 1

It's a good cognitive test to see if I can spell his name. Good rebounder, and he was clearly effective as Wemby's scout team buddy.

Scotty Pippen Jr. PG
Previous Team: Cavaliers
30
C B- A- A- C C
Bird Years: 1

Despite his obvious flaws, Pippen played nice minutes for a (constantly injured) title team.

Skal Labissiere PF
Previous Team: Bullets
34
C C+ D A- B+ D
Bird Years: 8

Underrated player who despises shooting. It's no surprise that he played 30 minutes per game on an overachiever.

Talen Horton-Tucker SG
Previous Team: Jazz
30
C+ B C+ A- C D
Bird Years: 1

Did NOT turn it over four times per game in 2029. But hell if he didn't want to!

Thomas Haugh SF
Previous Team: Knicks
26
C B+ C+ B B- C
Bird Years: 4

Kittles' first-ever pick never got his Supercamp! Long Island Still Loves You!

Trae Young PG
Previous Team: Warriors
32
B- B+ A C C- C
Bird Years: 1

Kept the turnovers, lost the jump shot.

Tre Johnson SG
Previous Team: Grizzlies
25
B A- C- B- D+ C
Bird Years: 1

Did some sneaky good things in Cleveland's balanced offense (48 percent shooting) before moving in the Desmond Bane trade. Has some sort of future.

Troy Brown Jr. SF
Previous Team: Kings
31
B A- C B- C+ C
Bird Years: 1

The three-time champion didn't sit long in Detroit after signing the MLE. Played sparingly in 2029 and could find a larger role in 2030.

Tyler Herro SG
Previous Team: Bucks
31
B- A+ C+ C C- C
Bird Years: 11

A superb shooter - whose struggles in all other facets counterbalance the core strength.

Tyler Smith PF
Previous Team: Cavaliers
26
B- C+ C- A- B- D
Bird Years: 6

The Cavs put some love into Smith before he too was lumped into the Grizzlies trade. Could be a nice role player.

Wendell Carter Jr. C
Previous Team: Trail Blazers
31
B+ C+ C- B B C
Bird Years: 2

Another league-average player who calls his own number too much.

Xavier Tillman Sr. C
Previous Team: Grizzlies
32
C C C- B+ B- D
Bird Years: 10

Sneaky stock source who's played significant minutes on winning team after winning team. Upon review, was surprised to see his impact.

Zach Collins C
Previous Team: Nuggets
33
C+ B+ C B B D
Bird Years: 1

It's 2030. We're now more than a decade removed from Collins getting away with a 2nd round NCAA Tournament goaltend that swung the game against Northwestern. Yeah, still not over it!

Zion Williamson PF
Previous Team: Timberwolves
30
A C- C+ C B D
Bird Years: 11

I still kind of want someone to start him and see what happens. Why sequence five tank commanders when you can have one? Or, a shocking hit? Ok that's enough about Zion for the rest of the year.

Zymicah Wilkins C
Previous Team: Suns
24
C+ C- D- B+ B- A
Bird Years: 1

While this is, I hope, a comprehensive and future interesting league history document trail… I hear he's No. 1 on a far more interesting FA Preview… and will analyze that breathlessly before submitting Day 1 Bids!

Good luck in FA everyone!

Def put in a ton of love into Tyler smith, he showed A lot his rookie year so thought he’d be better, that being said, pretty good 4th/emergency big due to his defense
FOR THE LAND - believe!
